The last thing any peaceful town expected was for the soil in which their very huts were rooted in to all of a sudden give way some day... but that's exactly what the Rescue Riders descended upon one sudden morning.

CRASH

The ground jolted below Summer's webbed feet as she woke with a start. Without a moment's hesitation the earth began to shake violently, jostling from side to side without any mercy. One moment the fast fin was swimming through her dreams and the next she was being catapulted halfway across the sleep cave with the sudden force.

"Ack!" The ground tipped this way and she was ricocheting into a wall.

Then it all came dawning on her.

"Earthquake!" Summer yelled and hastily tried to flap into the air.

In an instant Summer flew around, trying to wake everyone up and get them out. She instantly turned her heads upwards as she awkwardly hovered through the shaking.

She burst upwards through the trap door, thoughts whirling around in her head, 'Is Leyla and Dak ok?'

"Summer! There you are!"

Summer breathed a sigh of relief when she heard that familiar voice.

She flew over to the two humans, who were clinging to a support pillar for dear life. She maneuvered over as close as possible without smacking right into the pillar and had them both hop over onto her back.

"We need to get out of the Roost!" Leyla pressed, looking up at the trembling walls all around them.

With a gush of energy Summer darted out of the door which had been flung off its hinges long before. She flew into the open sky and tried to flap away from the rumbling ground.

Just a moment later to the three's relief the shaking began to slow to a stop. Summer shook her head rapidly to try to process what had just happened.

She set down quickly onto the ground, which was now littered with broken training targets and barrels.

"We need to find the others and go to town!" Dak leapt off Summer's back and raced over to the doors of the Sleep Cave, which were wide open.

Out of the shadows crawled... a very motion-sick looking Burple.

"Are you ok Burple?" Leyla rushed over.

"I do-nt think soooo." His eyes crossed, Burple fell over on his side dramatically.

Summer raised her head and looked around, anxiety rushed over her as she looked for any sign of the other dragons. That's when she saw the imposing black pillar of smoke rising not too far away in the direction of the town. Her eyes widened and she rushed over to the bridge to look out across a Huttsgalor racked with ruin. She gasped in surprise.

How had a short earthquake caused such destruction?

A giant crack split the town, hutts were on fire, and half the houses were crumbling down.

Tension awoke in the fastfin.

She heard a loud crash and turned around to see part of the Roost... crash in on itself. She jumped back as a gaping hole was left on the side of the once glorious lighthouse.

"How could this day get any worse?" She said to herself.

"It can! We can't find Aggro or Cutter!" Leyla ran up to her.

The rescue rider's worst fears presented themselves, but it wouldn't be the worst to come...

Cutter hadn't been sleeping when the violent quaking took place. In fact he was quite the opposite.
