"You can tell me anything."

The words rang like birdsong in Cutter's mind. From the moment the words left Aggros mouth only a couple moments before. He never took Aggro for being sweet, he never expected anything of the sort, but here he was proven wrong.

Dusk light streamed into the cool damp cave, bringing in an ocean breeze while blowing lightly across the two dragon's scales.

"Anything..." He echoed dreamily, even as his scales continued to itch in a manner unfavorable.

"Uh-huh, hello?" She waved her wing in front of his face and he blinked suddenly, realizing he'd been staring off into space.

"Aggro it's just, the dragons back there on those islands. They didn't accept me because-" He was cut off by Aggro.
"Because...?" She asked, and he gulped.

He looked to the side and out the entrance of the cave, where dark clouds had started to roll along the horizon. His spikes were prickinling, little ringlets of energy moving invisibly between them, like some beta version of electricity.

"Well, you'd figure it out eventually anyway." He stood up solemnly, frowning. Cutter took a step away from her and out towards the coming storm.

He sighed and looked back at her, pausing, "I can't really do anything to hide it now."

"Aggro I'm-"

BOOM

All in an instant thunder roared with a flash of white brightness and the crack of lightning...

The night rushed in cold, settling amongst the quiet village, bringing a chill to the previously warm day.

Dak dashed inside the Roost, Winger on his heels, and a map under his arm. At the base of the stairs, Leyla was with Summer, counting the books on the newly replaced bookshelf for the millionth time that day.

"Here's the plan." He declared as he came to a stop, Winger closing the door with his tail behind him.

"Oh no." Leyla chuckled instantly, "What did you come up with now?"

"No seriously Ley." Dak walked over and unfurled his map, laying it down on the floor over the (also newly replaced) trapdoor. Seeing the sight of the map, Leyla's eyes glittered with interest and she came over.

"Here's the Valkard Isles, that's where these rebellion dragons are." He pointed to the desolate corner of the map where the isles were depicted.

Summer's expression shifted, "That's pretty far..."

"You're right, it is." Dak stood up, "But if we get enough supplies and fly at a good pace, I think we can make it in less than three days."

"And what do we do if we get there?" Leyla looked concerned, "Dak I appreciate your optimism but... Huttsgalor still needs us. We haven't seen the lightfurys in a while but they could still be out there, and I don't think we can risk leaving to help some dragons we aren't even sure are in danger."

Winger and Summer shared a glance and turned to their riders in sympathy.

"I know, I know, but you heard what the Divewings said! If the Valkard Isle dragons aren't in danger than some other dragon probably is. Don't you wanna do something about this rebellion?" He reasoned.
"I do, I really do, but we got to focus on our people for just a little bit longer, ok?" She walked over and put a hand on his shoulder.

"Alright." Dak agreed, but inwardly he wasn't in agreement at all.
'This isn't right. Those dragons need our help, I can feel it. They need the Rescue Riders.' He thought, but kept his words to himself.
