Summer, Leyla, Dak, Winger and Parrot, along with a dozen or so villagers had nothing but the roost. The sleep cave was the only place still in somewhat good condition. The doors, still flung from their hinges, however, was the only thing that would keep the lightfurys out.
The best that could be done was to prop them up in the holes where they should go and pray not a single white fury noticed their hiding spot, if the lightfurys were even after them in the first place.
Parrot seemed to be having a panic attack, "It's all them! They do these things! They burn places and take dragons! They do it all for their- thier-"
Suddenly the sound of rain plasma ceased. The air grew silent, only the distant crackle of fire. Everyone held their breath, villagers hid behind Summer and Parrot.
"Parrot, what more can you tell us about these dragons?" Leyla whispered, breaking the silence.
"I told you, they worship BoulderDeath. They'll do anything they think she would do. Everyone thinks they're just a cult with a fake deity but... BoulderDeaths real. The earthquake, it must have been from her! She burrows under the ground and shakes the surface above." He whispered back, eyes widening.
Summer could feel the anxiety radiating off of him from where she stood. Parrot was nervous and very superstitious.
"It just sounds like a group of evil lightfurys going around looking for an excuse to burn human villages." Dak reasoned.
"Speaking of which, I think they are gone." Summer raised her head.
Slowly they drew to the propped up doors. Summer peered outside, all she could see was smoke against the dark sky where the village was. She sure wished she had Cutter's sight at the moment, that was all that could be seen.
"We need to look for everyone else." Winger murmured, placing a claw to slightly push the doors aside. He carefully walked outside in front of Summer, looked around, and called back, "No sign of those lightfurys!"
"Be careful. Don't jinx it." Leyla warned as Dak ran out to Winger.
"Parrot, you stay here with the villagers." Summer looked back at the Nadder, who had begun his nervous hop around the cave.
Leyla got on Summer's back and she flapped outside. As they descended they found what was left of a town, burnt and transfigured beyond recognition.
"I never thought it could ever get this bad." Leyla whispered and Summer felt waves of new, horrified emotions ripple through her.
She looked away and instead dove towards the moonlit sea, which had grown strangely calm, gliding just over the water's surface, she took a gulp of water and flew back up to spray it upon the dying flames.
Leyla's hand patted her side, "Right, let's put out the fires first then find everyone else."
Winger and Dak were down below, trying to salvage anything possible.
Summer flew down for a few more trips of water, and soon the fire, which was smoking out now that it had nothing left to burn, was completely out. She landed on the charred ground, still feeling uncomfortable in her stomach.
"Do you think what Parrot says is true?" Summer asked.
"All that's true now is that these lightfurys... are the biggest foe we've ever faced." Leyla sighed.
"We'll find a way. We just need to make sure everyones not seriously hurt first." Summer said, although her feelings contradicted her words. She was not sure at all they would find a way.
She'd never dreamed of meeting a nightfury, let alone a hoard of lightfurys!
"Leyla! Summer! Over here!" Dak called from near the edge of the cliff.
