Prologue

Inei's POV. Ubuyashiki Estate.

An ordinary day in the Ubuyashiki Estate.

It's been a few years since I became a demon slayer and a pillar with Gyomei-san.

But..........I sensed that Kagaya-sama is requesting my presence, so I went here, to the Ubuyashiki Estate and I was right.

I decided to reveal my presence to Kagaya-sama and bowed to him, showing my respect.

Inei: Kagaya-sama, I had an intuition that you wanted to summon me.

The man, known as Kagaya Ubuyashiki, the current head of the Ubuyashiki Household and the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps, smiled and was even amazed.

Kagaya: As expected from the Shadow Hashira. I never even expected that you'd arrive sooner than I thought.

I've known of the Ubuyashikis ability of Foresight, which became vital in gathering information regarding demon attacks.

According to him, he can't see me in his Foresight. He probably said that it is because of my lack of presence that even his special ability is rendered useless when used on me.

Regardless of that, I still hold Kagaya-sama in great respect for accepting me in the Demon Slayer Corps.

Inei: Kagaya-sama, what is the reason of wanting my presence here?

Kagaya: I received a report from a crow that a demon is attacking a certain village.

Kagaya: Go there, and save the village.

He gave me the map and the location of the said village.

Inei: It shall be done, Kagaya-sama.

I swiftly left the estate with the new orders.

By following the map, I made a shortcut to the marked location and I found the village to be devastated.

Inei: ..............

Inei: Such destruction. Just how many homes, villages, and cities that need to be destroyed in order for these hideous monsters to be satisfied?

Inei: How many lives do they have to take in order for them to be satisfied?

I finished my thoughts along with observation of the devastated village, I immediately tracked down the demon.

Inei: Inside the house........also......there are still two people alive in there.........

I silently entered the house and found a demon is about to kill two people. An elder and younger girl, with similar hair color, with different length.

I entered the transparent world and saw their heart rates to be fast due to fear, I then took a look at the demon and located it's heart and brain.

Inei: Okay, this should be good.

The demon was about to attack them but........
