Chapter 26: Shower

After telling Pyramid about there being some canned food in the kitchen, we both entered it.

I pick up the can of soup that one of the dogs got to, luckily the dog wasn't able to chew it open.

"Thank god..." I sighed in relief before finding another knife and cutting the can open, I begin eating.

'I am sorry for harming you.' Pyramid apologized, gently touching the bruise on my wrist.

"It's okay. I'm just glad you didn't kill me."

'I almost did...'

I look up at him, "Dont worry about it. Technically, it wasn't you...I mean, it was you....but not you at the same time. If that makes sense." The words were mixed in with giggles. Finishing the can, I let out a groan, still hungry.

'I understand. These emotions are being complicated, I feel as though I am unable to forgive myself.'

Keeping the knife in hand, I look over at him, "Well, I forgive you. You will forgive yourself here at some point. It will take time to feel better about it."

Pyramid nods, we both leave the inn through the front door.

"I am covered in blood...I need to clean up..." My words made him stop walking and move his attention back to me.

'I know, I can smell it. I will find you a source of clean water.' He informed me, making me smile.

"...But isn't the only place with clean water the apartments?" I worry.

'To my knowledge.'

"Okay."

We resume walking, keeping the knife with me I begin to play with it between my hands.

Soon I throw the knife ahead of us, kicking it further ahead of us with my bare feet when we reach it.

Doing this over and over again, Pyramid suddenly reaches down once we reach it for the 3rd time and picks it up.

'Enough.' His voice was stern.

I frown at him, "Why?"

He remains silent for a few seconds before speaking up again, 'You will wind up harming yourself.'

Beginning to giggling at him, I notice he is lying to me, "You are just getting annoyed with me kicking it around, aren't you?"

'No.'

Laughing at him, I smirk, "Yes you are. Give it to me then." I step out in front of him to stop him from walking. He moves his helmet down as if looking at me.

'No, I will keep it until you require it.'

"But whyyy?" I begin reaching for it, only for him to raise it up, out of my reach.

'I already told you, Hecate.' His voice unable to hide the amusement being created by my poor attempts at reaching it.

"Pyramid pleaseeee!" Jumping up, I try harder to reach it, only for him to raise it higher above us.
