Chapter 19: The aftermath

Kat and I exit the church, movement from the church roof grabs my attention as the movement comes closer, Valtiel. Kat screams as she sees what I'm looking at, she backs away from me as Valtiel approaches.

"Don't worry, he wont hurt you. He used to be an angel, actually." My attempt at getting her to relax works only a little, looking to Valtiel now.

"Where did the girl and her mother go?" I ask him.

'Back home. Although the demon is not allowing them to leave the fog world.' He informs me.

"I thought the demon was planning to kill the child? Why did it allow her to leave Silent Hill?"

'I was able to intervene, stopping the demon long enough to allow the child and her mother to leave the city and out of the demon's radar, for now. The demon is not allowing me to send them back to the real world, as Alessa would have wished for them to.' He updates me.

Kat remains silent as she observes, I continue, "So. Who is in charge now? The demon? Or you?"

'The demon has taken full control of Silent Hill since Alessa's passing.' Valtiel spoke.

"Already? The demon still has that much power after helping Alessa with what just happened?"

'Yes. It appears as though this had been part of the demon's plan from the beginning. It feeds off the fear produced by humans who get lost here, as you can imagine, the demon almost has no limits to its strength.'

I look over at Kat, who is focused on our surroundings, "are the monsters moving now?" She worries.

'Yes.' Valtiel responded into my mind, Kat reacts as well by staring at Valtiel. The look on her face reflects her shock and fear, as she must have heard it too.

"Did that thing just speak to me?" She confirmed my assumption fearfully.

"Both of us." I giggled to her "His name is Valtiel, by the way." My gaze shifts onto her again.

"Oh..does he rape people too?" She takes a step back, holding her arms.

'I would never do such a vile thing.' He hisses into both of our minds.

Kat lets out a sigh of relief, "Thank god. I like you a little more now..even though you look terrifying..."

I smirk a little at her words, "He doesn't look bad." I tease while watching Valtiel.

"Yea...I guess...not as bad as other things here at least..." She admits, beginning to look around again, "We should go...in case anything around here wants to eat us..."

I nod and look at Valtiel, "What did you want to say to me by the way?"

'I will continue to protect the child, and I am working on finding a method to bypass the demon and get the child, or even the mother, out of this realm.'

I nod, "Alright, if you need my help, let me know."

"Alright can we go now!?" Kat panics, "I think I'm hearing things!"

"Alright, lets go..." I say, waving bye to Valtiel as we walk down the road, starting to hear Pyramid's knife dragging on the ground coming from the hospital.
