CHAPTER TWENTY FIVEK Y L E
Before Brian and Ash left, they made me promise to call Alexis and for some strange reason, I felt scared to call her.
Like I didn't do anything wrong so why was I scared?
What would she say? Would she even answer my call? What if-
I was interrupted from my thoughts when I heard a vibrating sound coming from my phone.
It was probably Brian or Ash calling to say they forgot something. I nonchalantly grab my phone without looking at the caller ID.
"Yes?" I said into the phone but there was silence at the other end. I was about to speak up again until I heard a voice.
"H-hello?" A shaky voice said into the phone.
"A.. Alexis?" I answered back and there was a little bit of silence.
"Yes. It's me. I just wanted to know if you would be busy in like an hour Or you can tell me when you would be less busy Or if you're busy, it's no problem I can call back in a we-"
"Slow down," I chuckled. "An hour is good. Where do you want to meet up?"
"How did you know I wanted to meet up?"
"You just asked me if I was free, it's only logical that you would want to meet up or don't you?"
"Oh...Yes I do."
"What about the cafe close to my office?"
"No, there's a Japanese restaurant close to my company. That would be better."
"Okay then. See you in an hour."
"Phew! Thank goodness! I was saved from overthinking just now." I mutter to myself.
I went to my closet and noticed that I had mainly suits. This isn't a formal meeting, I should dress casually. I've only got pyjamas and business suits and just casual house clothes.
"That's definitely not going to work."
I picked up my phone and dialed my office line but nobody answered. I called the reception and after awhile someone answered.
"Where is Lisa?" I barked into the phone.
"She didn't turn in for work today. She claims that you fired her sir."
She was useless anyway.
"Why did Steve not send in a replacement?" I asked rubbing my forehead.
"A bunch of people came for the interview but you weren't here to make the final pick so most left."
"Most? Meaning some are still there?"
"Two are here sir. Both females but I think one fell asleep."
"Good. Inform the one that's awake that she got the job and tell her to start immediately and also to call me back in two minutes." I ordered and threw my phone on the bed.
My phone rang after exactly two minutes, maybe she's more efficient.
"Good afternoon sir! My name is Lucy and I'm your new assist-"
"Enough! I need you to go to a shop and get me casuals. Casuals like jeans and shirts. You have fifteen minutes to bring them to my house. My driver will pick you up and drop you at my house so hurry."
My stomach growled. I don't know why it just couldn't wait for me to get the restaurant first. I can't eat now, I won't get the appetite again.
I strolled to the kitchen and the first thing I notice is how empty the kitchen is. I opened the fridge and noticed that it was mostly empty.
