"What is this!?" I looked at the presentation In my hand with disgust. "What idiot prepared this?" I thundered at the two men standing in front of me.

"Well...er," One of them stuttered which made my blood boil. "No. Don't tell me. You both are fired! Get out of my office now." I yelled at them before they scurried out.

I can't trust anyone in this building. They are all useless. Can't even make a proper presentation.

I dialed the reception and it was answered by a female voice. "Come to my office immediately!" I smashed the phone.

It was the receptionist, Lisa. Lisa who is currently acting as both my secretary and the receptionist. I fired the last one yesterday.

"Yes sir?" She poked her head into the office.

"Are you stupid or what?" I rolled my eyes at her.

"You are a dumb one." I insulted her again but she just wore a confused expression.

"I'm confused sir," She confessed as she stood in front of me.

"You came into my office without authorization! You didn't know knock." I explained to her and she still looked confused.

Where the hell did they get this girl from?

"The thing is, I thought you knew I was coming, because you were the one that called me in-" She tried to explain but I waved my hand in the air causing her to stop.

"You talk too much. You thought? Stop thinking because your thoughts are stupid and I don't pay you to think."

"I'm sor-"

"Go outside and knock on the door." I instructed her.

She lowered her head and went back outside before knocking.

"Come." I answered and she walked in. "I need you to to give this to my father, He's in his office." I handed out the file to her but she still stood still.

I rolled my eyes. "I'm done with you. You can leave now." I say pointing to the door and she turned to leave.

"Again I'm sorry Mr Matthews." She turned to me again.

"You apology means nothing to me. Just get out." I didn't bother looking at her and she left.

I opened my laptop and checked the company's stocks. They were plummeting. That is why this marriage needs to be done as soon as possible so we can announce a merger.

The company needs this marriage to work out.

Through my peripheral view I caught the sight of my phone screen coming alive so I grabbed it. It rang again, this time it was in my hand.

Penelope.

"I'm on my way to you." Sue announced before hanging up.

There was a knock on the door and the person obviously didn't wait for a response and just threw my door my door open.

Who would be unlucky enough to do that?

"Hi." Penelope chirped as she barged her way into my office and my temper relaxed.

"You look rather stressed," I raised my eyebrows.

"I am!" She sighed. "It feels like all the wedding planers in New York conspired against me. They don't have time." She complained and let out a frustrated groan.

"Relax." I say trying to calm her down.

"Let's go out for lunch." She suggested.

"I'm really kin-." I tried to say but her expression changed and she pouted. I let out a sigh, "Where to exactly?" I asked.

"Anywhere. I need food to calm my nerves." She replied.

We had lunch in a fancy Chinese restaurant and while everyone were dressed casual, I had a suit on.

After lunch I decided to not return to the office and went straight home. My dad thought it would be a good idea for us to move from Greenfield to New York.

I reached home and greeted my mom and dad. Emily was away at Oxford university majoring in Business but she was in her final year.

The dinner table was quiet the only small talk we had was between my dad and I, we talked about work.

My dad spent more than three years trying to teach me business and how the company worked also that sometimes sacrifices had to be made for the betterment of the company and that was why I agreed to marry her.

It wasn't a really difficult choice, I mean, we're friends. Since Alexis left me, Penelope had always been there. Helping me build this new attitude I had so the world wouldn't be able to get close to me or see my vulnerable side. She's like a best friend to me the way Brian and Ash were but right now I had to marry her.

I excused myself from the table and went to my room and took a shower. With a towel tied around my waist, I opened the cupboard in front of my mirror where a piece of crumpled paper sat.

After I picked it up, I sat on my bed and carefully opened  it. The letter Alexis wrote to me for the last time. It was the last thing I have of her.

I remember our dates back in the day and her cheerful smile whenever I gave her anything. Her beautiful green eyes and the best memory was of us in that crappy motel.

A smile crept into my lips as I read the content of the letter.

No. I shouldn't be doing this. I shouldn't be thinking about her. For eight years I hoped she'd reach out to me, but she didn't.

She was the first and only girl I've ever loved and she left me. No. I won't get emotional now.

It has been eight years, I wonder what she'd look like now.

Kyle you're stupid. We just agreed to not remember her and now...well you're a lost case.

Even my mind was tired of been assaulted with constant thoughts of Alexis. But my heart craved to see her again.

It's has been so long. I wonder, does she even miss me? Does she wish to see me again?
