Chapter 13

I woke up this morning to Shadow licking my face. " Well good morning to you to Shadow" I giggled and picked her up and walked downstairs and thats when I saw Tom dancing around while making breakfast, and thats when I had the greatest idea.

I slowly walked up behind Tom once he stopped dancing and brought Shadow up to his neck and had her lick him. Tom jumped and screame4d causing me to fall and start laughing. "Bloody hell Y/n you scared me!" I couldn't stop laughing, "B-But it was so worth it hahaha" Tom just shook his head and continued to finish breakfast while I kept laughing.

Tom finally finished breakfast and I was finally done with my laughing fit and we decided to just hurry and eat so we could go hiking, sadly Shadow couldn't come since she was still so little. "I wish she could come along dad" "I know hun but its to keep her safe so why don't we bring her a stick back for her" My face lit up and I nodded.  After we finished breakfast we went and got dressed then we met by the front door and started our adventure.

It was pretty cold outside and there was a ton of snow and we could barely see where the hi9lls on the side of the paths were anymore. We started walking uphill on a trail we found and it was really pretty. "Isn't it pretty dad its so open and majestic" "Ya it really is its also so peaceful" I  nodded my head and we continued our walk. 

We were walking for a while when we decided to head back but as we were walking down the hill I slipped on ice that was under the snow and started to fall down the hill we were walking down. "SHIT!" "Y/N!" I continued to roll until I finally hit the bottom and I just laid there breathing heavily my arm was hurting and my face was hurting everywhere. "Oh my god Y/n!" I looked over and saw Tom running to me and crouching down to me level when he got to me. "Y/n I am going to pick you up we need to get you inside" I just groaned in agreement . 

Tom picked me up slowly and he carried me back to the cabin as fast as he could.

When we made it inside he sat me down on the couch and ran into the bathroom and brought out the first aid kit. "Darling I have to clean the cuts on your face ok" I nodded my head and let him clean my face even though it hurt so bad. At one point I hissed so loud in pain he stopped everything completely and waited till I was ready to continue letting him clean my face.  "Darling I am finished now lets get your closed changed do you think you can do that?" "Y-Ya I think so" I slowly got up with Toms help and got o my room I decided to take a warm shower and change my clothes.

After my shower I got dressed and laid in bed with Shadow silently crying because my arm was hurting and my face was sore.

*Knock Knock*

"Come in" I yelled while holding Shadow making sure she covered my face so Tom couldn't see I was crying. "Darling is everything ok you haven't come out of your room since you came up here to change your clothes?" I just nodded my head while Shadow stayed covering my face. "Darling I know something is wrong please tell me I am worried about you" "My arm hurts and so does my face" "Oh hun do you want some pain reliever?" I nodded my head and then Tom got up and left I assume to get the pain medicine.

After a couple minutes Tom came back with the medicine and some water.  "Thanks dad" I said while taking the medicine, "Anytime darling" "Do you think you could stay in here I like being in bed its comfy and we only have a couple more days of being here till we have to go back home and spend the rest of break there" He nodded "Of course darling let me go get in my pajamas and I will be right back in for us to relax and have a daddy daughter movie night how does that sound?" I smiled and giggled "It sounds amazing hurry  up then slow poke" He laughed while shaking his head then left the room to get in his pajamas.

A couple minutes later Tom came in with his Christmas pajamas. "DAD!" He jumped and so did Shadow. "WHAT!" "In two days its Christmas I completely forgot!" "eheheheh" I laughed along with him and we watched scary movies that night.  I must have fallen asleep at some point because I woke up to Tom tossing and turning in his sleep while sweating horribly. "Dad" I touched his shoulder a couple times trying to wake him up even lightly shaking him but them he sat up and looked around the room then at me and hugged me while silently crying. "Dad what's wrong what happened?" He just shook his head and kept crying "Dad please what's wrong please tell me!" "You died you fell down the hill and died and I didn't get to save you in time Y/n" "Oh dad I am so sorry I'm here I'm alive its gonna be ok don't worry just take deep breaths for me ok" He nodded and we started taking deep breaths together.

After about 5 minutes his breathing was under control and he was able to relax again. "Are you ok now dad is everything ok?" He nodded his head "Yes I just that was the worst dream I have ever had I can't lose you I just can't you may not believe me but darling your the best thing that has ever happened to you I am so glad I adopted you" Now I had tears in my eyes knowing I was that important to him. "Everything is going to be fine dad I am here I won't ever be leaving your my dad the only dad that has ever been there for me ok remember you saved me in my darkest time" He nodded his head and we both eventually fell asleep.
