"My dear brother, would you be so kind as to tell me, why are we waiting here?" Yami asked, looking around the hotel impatiently, "Kazumi, answer me," she demanded.
"Well... Your sister is getting a manager today," Her older brother replied.
"Oh, right. I'm sorry, I had completely forgotten."
"Hey. Wait a damn minute," intervened Tsuki, their youngest sibling. "I said I wanted you to stay as my manager!"
"Tsuki, Kazumi will be going abroad. He can't be your manager when he's in another country," Yami tried to reason with her, but her twin quickly started to fuss over it. No one had told her about this piece of information!
"What?! What do you mean he's going abroad?!" exclaimed Tsuki, flaring up. She turned to Kazumi accusingly, "Why do you even have to go abroad? Why can't you just stay here and continue working as my manager!!" Tsuki furiously stomped her foot. Some of the people in the hotel looked at them curiously.
"And—" Tsuki started, but Yami did not give her a chance to finish. "Tsuki," Yami said firmly while shooting daggers at her twin.
"Ugh... Fine," grumbled Tsuki in defeat. She knew better than to argue with her sister. Especially when her sister was looking her dead in the eye.
"Good. Now, I wish you the best with our little sister here, Kazumi. Oh and Tsuki, please do not give your new manager a rough time," said Yami, as Tsuki nodded innocently. Kazumi looked at his youngest sister with doubt. "I have to go to mother's office now, she wants me to fill out some paperwork," Yami added, clearly annoyed.
"Pfft! Good luck with dealing with mom!" Tsuki teased with a smug smile."Yeah. Haha. Very funny," Yami said sarcastically, "But seriously, I need to go now. See you around."
And with that, she headed out of the hotel.
. . .
Minutes later, Tsuki was starting to grow impatient and had the urge to start complaining again, until a lean young man with bright ocean-blue eyes and pale skin headed their way. He was wearing a cream-colored sweater that matched his hair, sported pants, and spotless white shoes.
"Tsuki, this is Albedo. He will be your manager." Kazumi told her, gesturing to the blonde.
Tsuki took no mind and turned to Kazumi. Maybe, just maybe, she might persuade him to not go abroad, now her scary, mean twin sister was not here.
"B-but—!" Tsuki whined, trying her best to look like a pitiful little girl who wanted nothing but her brother to stay.
"Remember, I'm going abroad. Get a grip. We're still going to be in touch," Kazumi interrupted. He was not going to be manipulated by someone younger than him for the hundredth time.
Tsuki sighed and rolled her eyes. Today, things weren't going her way.
"Pleasure to meet you," Albedo, her new manager, greeted. Tsuki finally glanced at him.
And she wished she hadn't.
'W-why the— This— This guy is going to be— my... New manager..?'
Her head started swarming with thoughts as she stood there, rooted to the spot, gawking at the man in front of her.
'Why is he so.. Erm.. attractive?! Is Kazumi trying to.. I don't know, make me go mental?! Or is he perhaps trying to make me die early, so he wouldn't have to put up with me?' She glanced at her brother. It was getting hard to breathe, she felt like she was suffocating. Was this what they'd call 'love at first sight'? No, that's just absurd! She can't possibly fall for someone she'd just met five seconds ago! Or could she—?
"Hellooooo? Earth to Tsuki?" Kazumi asked loudly, interrupting her thoughts, snapping two fingers in front of her face.
Tsuki jumped. "Huh? Oh yeah— erm.. h-hi," She stuttered, flushing red.
Albedo nodded courteously, choosing to ignore her red face and jumpy manner.
Looking once more at her older brother, Tsuki gave Kazumi a look that could kill. He looked back at her with innocent eyes.
"I guess I'll be taking my leave, then," Kazumi said, turning away.
"Huh?!! But your flight's tomorrow at 3 am!" Tsuki got back to whining.
Kazumi sighed. "Are you stupid or something? I have to pack."
"But— But Kazumii!!" Tsuki cried, clutching his arm like she was holding on for dear life. "This'll be the last time we'll get to see each other!!"
Kazumi rolled his eyes. "I'll leave her to you," he said exasperatedly to Albedo, prying Tsuki off. "Bye, let go now," he told his younger sister then darted towards the door when she loosened her grip.
"Hey!! I'm not done talking to you! You stupid, ugly, Jerk!!" Tsuki screamed, gaining a few undesired stares from the people in the hotel once more. She made to run after Kazumi, "Get back—!!"
She felt an arm wrap around her waist, preventing her from going further. She looked around, annoyed, only to realize her face was inches away from Albedo. She could feel his light breath on the side of her cheek.
'This is like... What happens in literally every romantic story. Well, kind of like it? This is cliché. It's awkward and I hate it.'
"Uh— Sorry," Tsuki murmured awkwardly, her eyes narrowed slightly. She forgot all about Kazumi in an instant. She felt her cheeks heat up again. 'Why?!! Just go away, blush! For fuck's sake just go away!'
Albedo felt like he had her under control and let her go.
"Uh... Okay... Wanna.. Erm— I don't know, grab some snacks..? Spicy stew, maybe..?" Tsuki muttered, laughing nervously.
"Miss Tsuki... I hate to break it to you, but you are on a diet. There is a long list of the foods you cannot eat, and that includes spicy food, for it can damage your voice. And you have to lessen eating food high in sugar, fat, and calories," Albedo told her, all serious-like.
Tsuki's face fell. She started pouting, trying to make her manager fall into her trap like how she tried to manipulate Kazumi earlier. But, unfortunately, it also wasn't working on Albedo.
"What seems to be the problem?" Albedo asked as he noticed her bubbly manner disappear.
'Oh, wow. He just told me that I can't eat literally everything and now he's asking what my problem is?? Like I'm the delusional one here?! What kind of—'
"If you don't mind, I could take you somewhere," Albedo said, "You could use some rest... It is your day off, after all."
"Huh?" Tsuki said blankly. Was that just a fucking mood swing?
Tsuki didn't understand him. He was so confusing. And boring. Kazumi was funnier. He was so oblivious to everything. When she tried talking to him, he just replied to her bluntly. It made her feel like she was just talking to a brick. He had such a quiet and irksome attitude it made her want to jump off the topmost floor of the very hotel they were standing in. And yet, he had a soft side. And it was... Well, she didn't know how to describe it. It was indescribable, in truth. But why did she seem to... like it? Perhaps she was going crazy. Over a boy. Which was dangerous.
But when did she care about what was dangerous or not?
