CHAPTER 54

Gerry was sat beside Harry with a sweet smile as he looked around the table at the kings, queens and important alphas. He was used to these dinners, they were all about how the kingdoms were fairing and if something was starting to become a problem. He never tried to involve himself into these types of things because he didn't exactly know how to discuss with all the alphas surrounding him. But today was different, he could feel it.

"Doesn't the new queen have anything to say? After all it has been more then a year and he has never contributed." A young alpha was the one that questioned the lack of contribution from Gerry.

"He isn't comfortable in talking in front of other alphas." Harry responded smoothly and Gerry calmed down considerably. All the alphas glanced towards each other with a small frown.

"Your previous queen used to lead all these meetings and we used to flourish with his ideas. He had ideas and was able to give financial advise, actually he was incredible when it came to any type of advise. He had a firm hand on alphas and if told, he could handle all the kingdoms singlehandedly. We thought that you probably changed the queen because the new queen was better then your previous queen." Rabastan Lestrange said, he remembered his brother having told him of his journey in 'No Mans Land' to save Lucius. He was a very well respected alpha.

"He is right Mr Potter. He was even able to rule your kingdom without help. He was truly a good ruler. If we did not know of you not being here, we wouldn't have known it was him and not you. In all honesty I would say that he did a better job then you in ruling the kingdom or Gryffindor.

Harry's eyes flashed a red in anger, his jaw clenched. Gerry looked down in shame, he was embarrassed because he couldn't even speak up to alphas. He may be the perfect example of an omega but he was no ruler. He wasn't what people needed in a queen. What people needed was Lucius, he was a better queen a thousand times over him.

"Do not talk of him. And Gerry is a better queen." Harry growled.

They left the meeting with anger rolling of off Harry. Gerry for the first time felt fear of his alpha hitting him. He was walking away from Harry in fear of being struck. Suddenly Harry stopped, he leaned against a wall and Gerry also stopped but he was still scared. He wrapped his hands around himself and kept a good distance from Harry.

"What is wrong? Why are you scared of me?" Harry asked, pushing himself away from the wall. He could smell the fear coming of off Gerry in waves.

Suddenly Harry's heart sank as he stared at Gerry. If Gerry knew how to pick apart emotions easily he would have been able to see the confused and dazed expression Harry was sporting. The fear on Gerry's face made Harry's heart ache.

"You think I will hit you?" As Harry came to the realization, he felt like his world was crumbling around him. He felt like he was being stabbed repeatedly in his heart, falling and falling down. He was also confused, he didn't know how he ended up here. But why was his mate scared of him?

"Did you meet Ali?" Lucius asked Antonin. The alpha looked up at him from where he was sat o the floor. He put away the half knitted hat, he was just practicing with Lucius who was a pro at knitting and crocheting.

"If you are speaking about Gerry's friend, then yes. I did meet him." He said, folding his hands over his lap. Lucius smirked as the gears in his brain worked.

"You are getting old Antonin." Lucius said and Antonin sighed knowing where this was going.

"I had three omegas but we separated because I am not fertile, it was a mutual decision of ours and now they are good life out there. Maybe it is written in my destiny that I do not have children or omegas. And by law, I am not required to get another omega." Antonin said, starting to knit again.
