"If we don't destroy them all...""Then there's no point. They can replicate what's left, and test the unstable serum on more people," Bucky finished, "People, who may or may not be doing it willingly."
"So we assume a hostage situation," Sam continued, having suited up a couple of minutes ago as the plane began its descent, "We go in, get everything and everyone we can, then leave."
"That's the plan," Sharon breathed, feeling the plane stop, "We're a little far from the plant because the ice makes a slippery landing zone, and we don't want to be seen."
"There's ice this early? It's the end of September," Sam couldn't hide his surprise.
"Yeah. Hope you have layers," Sharon stood up as the back of the plane opened, the two following in suit.
A cool winter breeze swept through the trio, never minding the fact that it was fall. Steam could be seen further down the slippery field, and the scene was almost as out of place as they were.
Sharon immediately took to a jog, Sam and Bucky following closely behind.
"Are you guys sure the powerbroker is behind the serum too? He seems to be pretty busy," Sam thought aloud.
"Yeah, I'm positive," Sharon didn't hesitate, turning to face Sam as she ran, "Trust me, I'd know."
"Does it really matter?"
Sam and Sharon both turned their attention to Bucky, "Powerbroker or not, using humans as test subjects isn't okay, especially not when it has anything to do with super soldier serum."
"Maybe they're doing it willingly," Sharon proposed, "Keeping up with the times."
"And who would subject themselves to an unstable injection that might kill them to 'keep with the times'?," Bucky questioned.
Sharon didn't say anything, only picking up her pace. Naturally, Sam and Bucky both sped up to keep pace, only she never stopped. Perhaps it was stubbornness, but neither of the other two slowed either, continuing to follow her until Sam ran a bit away from the group and took to the sky.
"You've got to be fucking kidding me," Bucky slowed down, watching as Sharon continued, unnaturally fast. Sam then slowed himself to a stop too, landing quietly beside Bucky. That's the when they learned the earpieces worked.
"Lie to yourselves all you want, the chances of surviving like this are slim if you're normal," Sharon spoke, "I realized that after you lot visited the first time, and so I took my chance a few days ago while I was gone. It worked out."
"Fucking hypocrite," Bucky balled his fist, "Preaches about how we have to destroy all of it, but willingly took the serum her damn self."
"Well," Sam began gently, not wanting to make things worse, "Sharon taking the serum doesn't change the objective, right? We still don't know if the people they're testing on are safe, and even if they are, it's still most definitely illegal. So..."
Bucky didn't respond, only starting back on his path at a quicker pace, to which Sam matched with his wings.
"She doesn't know what she did!" Bucky raised his voice, so Sam could hear without telling Sharon on the earpiece.
"What do you mean?!"
"The serum enhances everything, not just the good! Every quality, every flaw, every feeling!" Bucky shook his head, as the power plant came closer in his view, "She hasn't realized it yet."
Sam halted himself, going back to his feet as Bucky slowed to match him. Bucky raised his hands to his lips, and Sam nodded. They began to walk towards the building in silence, only the sound of racket filling their ears from the factory-like building.
