It almost seemed like the world was listening to (Y/N)'s wish to go and find her soulmate and travel the world. Because, almost two weeks later, an English trading ship arrived at the island to trade with the people and (Y/N)'s father. But, because this was a new land and the people on the island didn't trust people that came from beyond the reef, they weren't allowed to trade. The only thing they would do for the crew was to give them supplies for their next voyage and let them stay until then.

But (Y/N) saw this as an opportunity to escape on the ship and start her dream. But she would abandon everything she had grown to love and it was almost hard to leave that behind. But she had to. While the captain of the ship, Captain Thomas, was taking a still around the island, (Y/N) ran up to him to ask him all kinds of questions.

Including if she could join their crew, not mentioning what her role on the island was. Thomas asked if she was sure about leaving the island because, once they left, they wouldn't be coming back. That didn't stop her from saying she was sure she wanted to leave. Thomas asked her why exactly she wanted to leave.

"I want to see the world, I want to see everything it has to offer, but, what I really want, is to meet the boy who sings in my head," (Y/N) said

"Ah, your soulmate. Most of the crew wants the same thing," Thomas said

"Have you met yours?"

"I have. But she waits for me across the sea in the city of Bristol."

"If you don't mind me asking, what's a soulmate?"

"It's a... well it's like a best friend but more. It is the one person in the world that knows you better than anyone else, someone who makes you a better person, actually they don't make you a better person, you do that yourself. Because they inspire you. A soulmate is someone who you carry with you forever, it's the one person who... Who knew you and accept you and... believe in you before anyone else did, or when no one else would, and no matter what happens you will always love them. Nothing could ever change that."

(Y/N) smiled at Thomas' speech. So, he told (Y/N) to pack anything she needed and to meet them at the ship that night before they left. She was quick to get up and look for everything she needed. She didn't pack much because she didn't have much that she actually needed. The only person she told about leaving was her grandmother.

If her parents knew she was planning this, they would do everything in their power to keep her on the island. As night fell, (Y/N) gave her grandmother a goodbye hug before waiting for everyone to go to sleep for the night. When all lights went out in people's homes, (Y/N) snuck out of hers and made her way to the shore where the ship was almost ready to set sail for what lay beyond the horizon.

'Under the glow of the very bright lights, I turn my face towards the warm night skies and I am not afraid of a thousand eyes and there above five hundred smiles. Oh, I used to think, "What wouldn't I give for a moment like this." This moment, this gift! Now, look at me and this opportunity! It's standing right in front of me but one thing I know it's only part luck and so. I'm putting on my best show! Under the spotlight, I'm starting my life. Big dreams becoming real tonight. So look at me and this opportunity. You're witnessing my moment, you see? My big opportunity...'

She arrived at the gangplank where she will make the biggest decision of her life. She looked at the crew who were preparing to set sail for the next land.

'And now I'm right here and it's time because this is real, this is real and it's all mine. I'm not afraid, afraid to fly when it's above five hundred smiles,' (Y/N) boarded the ship, 'Oh I used to think what I wouldn't give for a moment like this? This moment, this gift!'

The ship sailed away from the island and she was happy to finally leave.

'And, now look at me and this opportunity is standing right in front of me. But one thing I know it's only part luck and so I'm putting on my best show. Under the spotlight, I'm starting my life. Big dreams becoming real tonight. So, look at me and this opportunity! You're witnessing my moment, see? My big opportunity. I won't waste it. I guarantee.'

After that day, she would learn everything there was to know about the world. Everywhere she went, she would learn something new from a new skill to a new language, and much more. She learned how to use a sword, how to fight, and how to adjust to life sea. She loved the thrill of her new life. Adventure around every corner accompanied by danger. She would meet so many people who would later be famous as time went by.

Ever heard of the Elephant Man? Well, they met five years before our two unsuspecting Soulmates would meet. Of course, even from when she was a young girl, so many people would make comments about her. Most of them were aimed at her gender. You see, back then, women on a ship were considered bad luck and you shouldn't have them on board. The crew were concerned about that myth as she reached her adult years but they would learn the myth wasn't true.

If anything, they thought (Y/N) brought them good luck. But, some did believe that her time at sea changed her. She had become overconfident in everything she did, she wouldn't let anyone talk about her, especially the people who would comment about her gender and what she did.

Men would claim that it was unladylike how she acted almost like a man and she would dress more like a man than a woman or anything feminine. But she was comfortable in her new sailor's shirt, trousers, and boots. And practically everyone knew who she was. Well, all except Erik who we will go back to when he was younger.
