Some of the crew were telling Erik what to do around the ship and showing him what to do. (Y/N) was doing her part which was ensuring all ropes, rigging, and things were secure and waited for orders. Other than that, she would just talk to the crew. Every member she considered as a second family. But I'll let her introduce everyone in a minute. Erik had slowly become interested in (Y/N).
At first, he was like everyone else, he thought that this wasn't what she should be doing. But, now that he's watched her work on the ship, he can see that this is her passion and she loves her life. Erik went to one of the crew members and asked him about (Y/N). The sailor would explain the day they met (Y/N) and how much she's grown since she was a young girl. Erik even learned that (Y/N) had practically seen everything the world had to offer, even people like him who were born differently.
He was told about (Y/N)'s meeting with the world-famous Elephant man just a few days before he died. That was during her last trip, too. Though the death of the spectacular man didn't seem to phase her. Her time around the world has shown her so many death between friends and people she knew quite well. Even a crew member at one point. Erik almost seemed jealous that this girl had done more with her life than him. But it didn't stop him from being interested in her. Erik then asked the risky question of if (Y/N) had met her soulmate yet to which the sailor replied no. Erik decided to just ask her questions. He went over to her.
"(Y/N)?" Erik got her attention
"Excuse me a moment, Papa," (Y/N) said to the man she was talking to, "Yes, Destler?"
"Wait, 'Papa'?" Erik asked confused.
"Yeah. My father."
"The sailor I was just talking to said you abandoned your family."
"I did. Why is this an issue?"
"He's not your real father so why call him that?"
"Family isn't about blood, it's about love. And he took care of me since I was ten years old so I consider him my father. In fact, the whole crew is my family. We're all family."
Erik looked visibly confused. He never had a family of any kind so he didn't understand what she meant.
"Alright, let me explain with a bit of help," (Y/N) said seeing his confusion, "Sails! Deck! Rigging! Let's go! This is our home. We've got every generation so full of music, a rhythm of its own design. This is my family, a perfect constellation. So many stars and everybody gets to shine.'
'Whoa!' the crew joined in
'But let's be clear, Thomas runs this show,' (Y/N) pointed to Thomas
'Whoa!'
'He led me here so many years ago.'
'Whoa!'
'And every year our family blessings grow.'
'Whoa!'
'There's just a lot you've simply got to know, so Welcome to the Family Trading ship. The home of the Family Trading Crew. We're on our way! Where all the people are fantastical and magical. I'm part of the Family Trading crew!'
"Blessings? What blessings and how are you supposed to remember them all?" Erik asked (Y/N)
"Alright, alright, relax!" (Y/N) said amused
