They finally meet

So, a few days after (Y/N) was told about Erik, he finally left the Opera House ruins and tried to find someone who would take him out of Paris. He had no desire to find his soulmate if she was still here. (Y/N) was still in Paris. Thomas was having business trouble so they were all staying a bit longer than they wanted. But (Y/N) was currently in a bar telling the people there what her three-and-a-half-year adventure was like. She had seen so much since she was last in Paris and everyone was so interested to know.

Erik just happened to walk in and look around for sailors. He saw (Y/N) being the center of attention and he almost had the reaction of most people. Specifically, her choice of clothes was manly and not lady-like. He ignored her and went to the bartender asking if there was anyone who would take him on their ship to get out of Paris. Much to Erik's dismay, he was pointed to (Y/N). He asked for anyone else but Erik was told that (Y/N) was his best bet. Erik sat somewhere in the shadows and waited for (Y/N) to come over. When her stories ended, the bartender called her over.

"Something wrong?" (Y/N) asked him

"There's a man in the corner over there wanting to talk with you," The bartender said pointing to Erik.

(Y/N) looked over to see Erik clearly trying to hide his mask.

"A bit dodgy, don't you think?" (Y/N) asked

"He's desperate. You might have an interesting time with him," The bartender said

(Y/N) gave a nod and walked over to where Erik was. Erik looked up at her to take in her appearance and the obvious smell of the sea on her. Typical of sailers to smell like the ocean but it was almost a shock for Erik that (Y/N) didn't seem to care about it. She sat opposite him and looked at his normal dark appearance.

"So, you wanted to speak with me?" (Y/N) asked getting comfortable in her seat.

"Are you part of a sailing crew?" Erik said

"I thought my whole look would give you that answer but yes, I am."

"I need to leave Paris immediately."

"We're not a passenger ship, we're a trading ship. If you want to leave Paris, you take the passenger ship," (Y/N) said getting ready to leave.

"Mademoiselle!" Erik stopped her, "Please. I'm desperate."

"Okay, tell me why you want to leave on a trading ship."

Erik hesitated, "I'm wanted here in Paris. I can't leave on a passenger ship because I'll get caught."

"Ah! I see. You're one of those people," (Y/N) said getting comfortable again

"I am. Look, I can give you 250,000 francs if you do this for me."

"Quarter of a million? You are desperate. Tell you what," (Y/N) leaned forward, "I'll talk with my Captian about it and we'll discuss price then. Meet me here tomorrow. Any time, I don't care. What's your name?"

"Erik Destler."

"Posh name. See you tomorrow, Monsueir Destler."

(Y/N) left as the rest of the crew walked in. They all said hello to her and (Y/N) explained Erik's situation. Thomas wasn't there so (Y/N) left to find him. Erik was left alone to watch sailors and slobs drink, talk and laugh. Erik left for the Opera and anxiously waited for the next day. (Y/N) went to Thomas and told him about Erik, his situation, and his price. Thomas was used to (Y/N) getting deals for people to stow away on their ship for almost any reason but he was wary about Erik.

(Y/N) had explained that Erik was a criminal and how he was dressed to hide his mask. He only agreed because of (Y/N)'s persuasion. They had to leave for the next port tomorrow so (Y/N) had to find Erik the next day. They were heading to London which wasn't that far away. Well, a four-hour trip sounds far but not when you're sailing with (Y/N) and the crew. Erik went to the bar again the next day and waited for (Y/N) to arrive. She arrived quite quickly and went to Erik.

"So?" Erik asked

"So, it's a deal but my Captian has said you don't have to pay us. The only thing he accepts in return is work. That means you will be a sailor until we get to wherever you want to go."

"That wasn't the deal."

"Do you want to leave Paris or not?"

"Yes."

"Then you will do as you're told. You will be taught what to do by the crew or me. It's a small price to pay to leave Paris. We leave today in two hours for London. We're not waiting for you if you decide to be late as we're on a schedule. So, is it a deal or not?"

Erik sighed, "Fine. Deal."

"Meet us at the harbor then. The ship is called The Aquarius. Two hours. Don't be late."

And (Y/N) left. Erik did not like the arrangement but, like (Y/N) said, it's a small price to pay. Erik gathered what little belongings he had or needed and headed for the harbor. It didn't take him long to find The Aquarius as he recognized the crew from the day before and (Y/N) was very recognizable. Erik boarded the ship and went to (Y/N). She was quick to show him where his things would go and to dress him more appropriately.

She found more sea-worthy clothing for Erik to wear and told him to change and meet everyone above deck. She left and started to do her part on the ship. Erik changed, keeping his mask on, and went above deck to see everyone getting ready to set sail. Erik got orders from Thoma to just watch how they worked while they set sail for England. They were soon heading to the open ocean when Erik started to hear a familiar song.

'Tatou o tagata folau vala'auina. Le atua o le sami tele e o mai. Ua la ava'e le lu'itau e lelei. Tapenapena,' Thomas said

'Aue, aue. Nuku i mua. Te manulele e tataki e. Aue, aue. Te fenua te malie. Nae ko hakilia kaiga e,(Y/N) and the crew sang

"Mademoiselle," Erik said to (Y/N), "what are they singing?"

"An ancient song to keep us safe on the sea," (Y/N) said

"It's just the sea. It can't harm you."

"You take sailing too lightly. We do more than just sail. We read the wind and the sky when the sun is high. We sail the length of the seas on the ocean breeze. At night, we name every star. We know where we are. We know who we are, who we are.'

'Aue, aue,' the crew said

'We set a course to find a brand new Island everywhere we roam.'

'Aue, aue.'

'We keep our Island in our mind and when it's time to find home, we know the way!'

'Aue, aue.'

'We are explorers reading every sign. We tell the stories of our elders in a never-ending chain.'

'Aue, aue. Te fenua, te malie. Nae ko hakilia. We know the way.'

(A/N: I looked on the internet for how long a boat trip from Paris to London would be. I'm happy if you want to correct me.)
