Quantico never got this much snow, the air just got colder, chilling your bones and making you want to stay inside cuddled up under a warm blanket with a tea cup of steaming hot chai in your hands.

Winter was a wonderful time of the year, with a soft white blanket covering the town it made it look magical, like a winter wonderland straight out of a movie.

Although this time of year was very cold you were rewarded by mountains of gorgeous snow, kids and families out in the yards making snowmen, snowball fights in school yards, making snow angels, making everything a true white Christmas.

While the Christmas holiday had come and gone, it was that weird week before New Year's, where you and Emily were both able to actually have some time off and the time to spend it together, for once. After a couple of exhausting days with family, you were finally free to relax, snuggling deep into each other's arms on the couch while you laughed over your most recent t.v binge, picking at Christmas leftovers while you peppered each other with small kisses and giggles.

You always adored your times like this with Emily, when you'd first gotten together you were surprised that she could be so soft, that she could get so gentle, that her more abrasive personality was more reserved for work. You had to admit, you did have a special spot for that side of her personality, but while you were nearly asleep on her shoulder you were thankful for the gentle arm wrapped around you, the hand trailing up and down your arm as she pressed a soft kiss to your head.

"You start to feel ready for bed?" She murmured.

You shake your head lightly, letting out a yawn you so desperately try to cover up, "just one more episode" you plead turning your head up to give her your best pout.

Emily chuckles, "no baby, I think that's enough for tonight it's late. We have a whole week to finish this off" she reminds you.

"You sure you won't get called in?" You ask eyeing her go bag that hadn't left it's place by the door since she got home for the holidays, "your go bag is still by the door you know" you frown.

"I won't" she reassures you, planting a sweet kiss to your head. "I'm gonna make sure to make you my number one priority until January, okay?"

You nod, letting another yawn escape your lips making Emily smile, "okay sleepy, let's go to bed" she chuckles pulling you up from the couch.

"Yes ma'am" you smile peeking her quickly, eager to get into bed where you knew you would be able to curl tightly into her arms into a very peaceful sleep.

You sit on the windowsill, knees bent to your chest and the side of your head resting against the cold glass. Watching the snow slowly fall in the darkness of the night making it look like glitter in the streetlights, it was mesmerizing.

Emily woke up to an empty bed and a dark bedroom. Raising an eyebrow she looks over at the clock on her nightstand, 2.30 am it read

She gets up and wraps a silk robe around herself before walking out of the bedroom. The apartment was dark and quiet, she thanks herself for wearing warm socks while walking on the cold floorboards. Emily was just about to call out for her girlfriend when she spots her in the kitchen, sitting peacefully on the windowsill with her feet almost in the sink.

She chuckles to herself, the thought of her girl watching the snow fall in the middle of the night was adorable.

"Baby, did you really wake up to watch the snow?" She says softly, coming towards you. You turn your head and give her a soft smile, "it's pretty magical, don't you think?" You ask.

Your girlfriend kisses your forehead, "it really is, imagine how happy the kids are going to be when they wake up in the morning " she smiles.

"What are you doing up though? Shouldn't you be resting before going back to work?" You ask looking up at her.

"Long work hours, horrible sleeping schedule and all you know" she sighs.

"Babe, you should really start taking melatonin at the very least" you tell her. She grabs your hand and kisses your knuckles, "I'll think about it"

"Let's go back to bed, it's awfully cold without you there" she says softly and you nod in agreement.

You let her lead you back to the bedroom and tuck you in before slipping under the covers, nuzzled into your side with her arms wrapped protectively around you.
