It's been 7 months since Rin was told Sousuke reached stage 6. All those 7 months they would stay inside the hospital room or just stand outside the hospital. But today, Rin was allowed to bring Sousuke outside again as long as he was always right next to him no matter where he went. Rin promised he would be there as he held onto Sousuke's hand and left the hospital. Rin had no clue where they could go so he decided to settle on an old place and go to the park for the day with a picnic.
Rin and Sousuke entered the store, looking down every isle for food to bring to their day out. Then, they made their way to the park, sitting in the same spot they did before. Rin placed out all the food as he rested his head on Sousuke's shoulder, both boys staying silent. That was until Rin let out a soft sigh. "Not long left together...Why must the world be so cruel to us..." Sousuke was raising an eyebrow at Rin, not understanding what he was talking about. The red haired boy let out a soft laugh as he sighed again. "It doesn't matter, lets just eat." The two boys would enjoy their little conversations together as the day went past, eating all snacks and drinking all drinks. Then, the night took over. "Look at that, Sousuke, already night time." Sousuke looked up into the night sky and stared at the stars. "It's...dark." Rin smiled a little, looking into the boy's dark-blue eyes. "Yeah, it is. I guess the day went quick for you too." Sousuke nodded a little, still staring at the little beams of light glistening in the darkness. "Do you like it when you can see the stars?" Rin's head was now back on Sousuke's shoulder, both boys now looking far out into the atmosphere above them. "Yeah... It's always nice to see." Rin wrapped his arms around Sousuke's, both still staring up above. "Sousuke, promise me that we'll never be apart." The black haired boy looked at Rin and then back up at the stars, resting his head on top of Rin's. "I promise..." Then, as the night grew, the two boys made their way back to the hospital.
When they got back, Sousuke laid down on his bed as Rin pulled the cover over him. Both boys softly kissed goodnight as Rin went to leave. But, before he could even take 5 steps, something pulled him back. Rin's eyes widened when he realized it was Sousuke. It was Sousuke who pulled him backwards into his bed. Rin turned around to face Sousuke with an unimpressed expression. Yet, that look was wiped off his face when he felt Sousuke's lips conjoin with his once more. Then, slowly backing away, Sousuke slowly opened his eyes to be greeted by a shining red Rin. A small laugh escaped as he brushed his thumb down the red-faced boys cheek. "D-Don't surprise me like that, Sousuke." The dry-eyed expression made it's way back to Rin when he saw the boy laughing. But, it also made his heart race, a small pain stabbing him too. Sousuke pulled Rin closer, wrapping his arms around his back. "Stay here a bit longer, I'm too tired to hang out right now..." A soft smile crept its way onto the maroon-haired boy's face as he closed his eyes, resting his head under Sousuke's chin. "I guess I can stay here longer. Let's wait until you're not tired to go out, ok?" Rin could feel a small nod from the older boy. Then, he reached out for his phone, calling Gou. Almost instantly, she picked up, shouting. "Rin! You were meant to be home half an hour ago!" Rin had to hold the phone away from his ear to make sure he didn't go deaf. "I know, I'm staying with Sousuke for the night. Tell mum that." Sousuke looked down at Rin who was now looking up at him, giving him a smile which said 'Don't worry, it's nothing.' Then, after a 24 minute call with Gou (and their mum joining in), the call ended, and the two boys finally shut their eyes, getting some rest.
