C5 Why Didn't You Tell Me

It was now the next day. Rin stayed in his room until he was certain his sister and mother went out shopping. Once he heard the front door shut, he sprinted into the living room, wrapping a blanket around him and putting the TV on. Him and Sousuke would always cuddle up on the sofa with each other and watch TV so this was comforting for Rin. But, he had to leave when he heard a knock on the front door. Slowly, Rin stood up and made his way to the door, answering it to see Iwatobi. "Why are you guys here?" Rin lost a couple of emotions after hearing the news about Sousuke, becoming more direct and less sugar-coated with his words. "We wanted to hang out with you today!" Makoto had his normal, bright smile implanted on his face. Then, Nagisa barged through. "Woah, Rin-Chan looks so upset!" Rei tugged on Nagisa's shirt a little, telling him to give him a bit of space. Then, Makoto also realized it. "Now that you speak of it...Are you ok, Rin?" The red haired boy let out a rough sigh before turning away. "I'm fine. Plus, I wanted to have a...talk with Sousuke." Once more, Nagisa pushed through. "Oo! Is it one of those couple fights!" Rin glared at Nagisa for a second. "Couple fights- Nagisa we aren't dating!" Nagisa laughed a bit. "Excuses Excuses." Nagisa stepped back as Makoto spoke once more. "Oh, well, have fun I guess! We can all hang out tomorrow if possible, you can bring Sousuke along too!" Rin nodded in reply, smirking before they left. "Oi, Haru!" The black haired boy turned around, looking at Rin. "Tomorrow, I want to hear that you at least asked them out." Haru gasped a bit and gave Rin an angered look. Then, Rin closed the door.

It was 11:43am when Rin left his house, rushing to the hospital. He ran as fast as his legs could take him until he reached his destination. Panting, he finally reached his objective, standing in front of the hospital. Then, once more, a can of cola fell to his side. "Rin, here." The red haired boy stood up straight to be greeted by the black haired boy again. Without hesitation, Rin snatched the drink from Sousuke's hand and chugged it down, breathing heavily when he finished. Then, Rin spoke quietly. "Why...didn't you say anything. Your mum said why and mine, but, I want to hear it from you." Sousuke went silent, only making Rin angrier, his voice cracking again. "Answer me, Sousuke!" Then, Sousuke spoke quietly. "Rin...I don't want you to be sad-" Rin yelled again, unable to hold back any tears. "And how do you only remember me!? What have I done for you to remember my name and face that no one else has-" unexpectedly, Sousuke shouted back. "You've been there for me since childhood! If anything I believe that's enough!" Then, Rin yelled back. "So has everyone else! Your family, friends, everyone!" It was back and forth with the argument until Sousuke replied to Rin in a way which made him silent. "But what about you, Rin! What you said yesterday I don't believe I will ever forget!" Rin gasped a little, staying silent because he understood Sousuke was about to speak again. "That's because...I don't think I will forget the time I realized you feel the same way I do" The whole world around Rin paused. His heart joined along. "You...Sousuke-!?" Then, Rin was interrupted by the world starting again and him feeling two arms wrap around him. His eyes widened when he saw it was Sousuke hugging him, his head buried into Rin's shoulder. "I'm... sorry for not telling you sooner." Rin's eyes flooded with tears, all escaping like a waterfall. Was this all real? Slowly, Rin moved his arms up, slightly hugging Sousuke back. Then, Sousuke spoke softly. "Rin, I promise I will remember you." Rin nodded slightly in Sousuke's arms, tears still flowing out his eyes. Then, they both made their way to Sousuke's room.

Both boys were laying down on the hospital bed, Rin in Sousuke's arms as they both watched videos on Rin's phone. Sousuke would question Rin a bit on the videos but Rin didn't mind this, if anything, he didn't care anymore. Then, he remembered what Makoto said. "Hey, Sousuke, tomorrow a couple of friends of ours want  to hang out, wanna go?" Sousuke nodded a little. "Sure, I don't mind." Rin smiled a bit as they continued watching videos. "Hey Sousuke..." The black haired boy raised an eyebrow. "Could I come over...everyday?" The older boy smiled a bit. "Sure, I wouldn't mind." Rin shone with joy, happy that he was allowed to. Then, Rin slowly fell asleep.
