Back 2 U (Jaeyong)

When Friday comes, Jaehyun is more than ready. He is so hung up on Taeyong and fears he always will be. He chose to not even sit in the cafeteria so that he would have no choice but to sit with Yuta and Sicheng.
Jungwoo is like a puppy in a way and Jaehyun can't help but think it's so cute. Being new he clung to Jaehyun, although anyone could tell their mutual broken hearts have led them to each other. It's only been a couple of days but already there is a bond forming.
As Jungwoo and him sit on the roof with their legs dangling over Jungwoo has his head leaning on his shoulder as he cries softly.
"He said I'm too affectionate with other people and he thinks I cheated on him. I tried to tell him that he was being stupid but he just dumped me." He angrily wipes at his tears.
"Then the next day he was walking with his arm around the cheer captain. That bitch, I wanted to hit her but I would never hit a girl so I hit him. I walked up and slapped him hard and haven't spoken to him since. I honestly think he was just trying to get rid of me." Jaehyun rubs his back and puts his head on Jungwoo's.
"He sounds like the biggest douche." Jungwoo finally laughs through his tears and Jaehyun feels accomplished.
"He never used to be that way, when we met he knew I was affectionate with people so that's why I think it's just an excuse you know?" Jaehyun hums and nods along.
"Well, I think you should be you, even if it means he's not with you. Because one day, someone will come along and love you for you and you deserve that happiness." Jungwoo hums and thanks him while putting his head back on his shoulder.
"I'm in love with my best friend. Well he used to be anyway. He not only rejected me as a boyfriend but he told me he wanted me to stay away. I know he's going through some shit but it hurts you know?" Jungwoo nods and laces their hands together.
"We were destined to meet. Like soul mates." Jaehyun chuckles.
"Soul mates." Jaehyun repeats. As strange as it is for Jaehyun to actually admit it, he really feels connected to this person. All the time he spent in America he never felt anything like this. He was so dedicated to his love for Taeyong that he couldn't connect with anyone else. He knows he will forever be in love with Taeyong and will probably die an old spinster but it's nice to at least have a friend who understands his pain.
The two newly bonded friends make their way into the school. Jaehyun stops and looks in the lunch room at Taeyong sitting with Yuta and Sicheng and smiles to himself. They are trying to engage him and make him happy and that's all he can ask for. It absolutely kills him that he can't be there by his side and Jungwoo can already sense his mood change.
"He's very handsome." He says looking in the same direction as Jaehyun.
"He's the most beautiful person, always has been." Jaehyun says as he sadly walks away. Jungwoo sighs and heads to his locker. He knows his presence won't heal his heart, especially after just meeting but he hopes through their friendship they can overcome the heartaches.
The day drags on in Jaehyun's opinion. It's too much being this close and yet not close enough.

When it's time for the party Jaehyun only half heartedly gets ready. He's not too sure if he even wants to go still but he promised Yuta.
Him and Sicheng pull up and he can see Jungwoo in the back too. One thing about Yuta, if you are friends with someone and he likes you, he will definitely make an effort to befriend them too.
When they get there it is definitely loud and distracting, so he guesses Yuta was right. He doesn't feel right though. He feels like he should be home because if Taeyong can't be here enjoying himself then he shouldn't be either, still he takes the beer offered by Yuta and tries to mingle with some of the people he knows. He can see there are people from different schools here too. He notices Jungwoo is getting a little uptight but won't tell him why so he shrugs it off. He drinks beer after beer and is starting to feel the effects but when Jungwoo walks up and aggressively kisses him it sobers him up almost immediately. He slowly responds but only because he hasn't the strength to push him off yet but when he finally releases him Jaehyun can see hurt all over the others face so he gently takes his hand and leads him outside. They sit on the porch with Jungwoo's head on his shoulder.
"Explain." Is all he says as Jungwoo starts to cry softly.
"I'm so sorry, I just thought I could maybe make him jealous but now it probably just reinforced his thoughts of me being a slut." Jaehyun sighs.
"Maybe you should just let him go. You won't worry so much about what he thinks if you don't love him anymore." Jungwoo chuckles through his tears.
"That's so much easier said than done." Jaehyun laughs too.
"I know, but I'm too drunk to give you any true words of wisdom. I just want to be holding Taeyong right now. I want to comfort him and be his shoulder to lean on. It's kind of silly of me to suggest you letting go when I know I never will." Jungwoo snuggles into his side.
"I think I want to go home now, Woo. I'll tell Yuta to keep an eye out for you ok?" Jungwoo nods.
"Thanks, also Woo?" He questions as Jaehyun just shrugs.
"It's just easier." Jungwoo smiles and pats his leg before he stands.
He does like he said he would and tells Yuta he's leaving then proceeds to walk home. The fresh night air is working wonders to sober him up. He's sure his mom won't even be able to tell he was drinking. When he sees her sitting and watching television he goes by her side and snuggles into her, taking her by surprise.
"Are you ok?" He nods and holds on tight.
"I just need my mommy." He pouts and speaks in a baby voice making her laugh. He is quite surprised when she whispers in his ear.
"You smell like beer, but it's ok this time. You've had a rough time and I'm sorry for being the cause of a lot of it. We never should have left and I certainly shouldn't have made you cut ties with Tae. I hope someday you can fully forgive me." He sighs.
"I don't really understand what you were thinking at that time but I think I've forgiven you already." She squeezes him once more and they stay watching tv together until they both start to fall asleep.
