In total Taeyong spent a week in the hospital. The doctors were just playing it safe to make sure his stitches didn't get torn open again. He's still really sore but he couldn't wait to be home in his bed. His mother takes care of him well and Jae spends a lot of time there too. He never feels lonely. The only downside to this would be the fact that he hasn't allowed himself to feel at all. He's been home for three days, still not in school but his mom is always home at that time and Sicheng, Yuta and especially Jaehyun are there for him in the afternoons. He loves and appreciates every minute of it, loves being able to block out the pain.
It isn't until his fifth day home that things start to unravel. His mom had to leave for work early and none of his friends are able to come to visit so he's had an extraordinary amount of time alone. He starts to let the gravity of what happen really sink in. More than anything he is afraid.
He finds himself feeling really hungry but this is where things go wrong. He opens his bedroom door to be met with the long empty hallway. He looks around cautiously and steps out. It's dimly lit but familiar, he knows it's home but that doesn't change the sheer terror that washes over him in that moment. He runs back into his room locking the door. He thinks for a brief moment to call or text someone but doesn't want to be a burden. In his eyes he's already weak for letting this happen to him in the first place.
When the deep paranoia sets in he rushes to the corner of his room and hides, he sits in a small corner with his back pressed against the wall.
He spends the rest of his day there, he's cold and shivering, he sits and watches the door until exhaustion creeps in and he eventually passes out.

Jaehyun knew today was his first day to be alone so he's been texting him nonstop, with of course no response, so to say Jaehyun was a wreck would be putting it lightly. He knew coming to basketball tryouts was not a good idea. Taeyong insisted that if he didn't he would be angry with him so he went. When he is finally done showing his skills he runs out of the gym as fast as he possibly can. He's quite sure he didn't make the team because his focus was not there and he knows he messed up a lot. He rushes to Taeyong's house which takes him an agonizing ten minutes. Taeyong's mother had given him a key for emergencies and he feels like this is just that. He walks in, quietly calling Taeyong's name but just heads for the stairs since it's so dark downstairs. He knocks on his door and hears nothing so he tries to open it to no avail. He remembers Taeyong's mom had a key taped above the door frame and finds it right away.
When he opens the door it's pretty dark, the shades are pulled and he doesn't see Taeyong so he quickly turns the lamp on and spots him in the corner. When he kneels down to the floor he cries. He can tell that Taeyong was terrified, he sees the awful state he's in and feels incredibly guilty. He gently scoops him up while calmly trying to wake him.
"Yongie, sweetie. It's me Hyunnie." He whispers quietly as he rocks him in his lap. He only has to say it a few times to get a response.
"Hyunnie? It's you?" Jaehyun nods and tries to control his sobs that want to come out. He just sits and rocks him while rubbing his back until Taeyong tries to sit up.
"Where are we?" He asks looking around, still shivering.
"We're in your room, I found you on the floor. Were you scared baby?" Jaehyun asks quietly neither realizing the rather intimate nickname. Taeyong nods and buries his face in Jaehyun's neck. They stay this way for quite a while when Jaehyun suggests they get up and run a bath for Taeyong, who is confused as to why.
"It will warm you up and you should wash your bottom." He says gently and kind of awkwardly.
"You have to keep your stitches clean." He softly adds as Taeyong frowns and touches his sweatpants only then realizing he had wet himself. He tries to get up and run away. He's humiliated and Jaehyun holds him in place as he cries out.
"Let me go, please. Oh my god I'm so embarrassed." Jaehyun shakes his head and keeps him on his lap.
"B-but it's all over you, I'm so sorry." Jaehyun gently smiles and kisses his cheek.
"Taeyong, you have been through a traumatic experience, things like this can happen and I still love you the same. You have nothing to be ashamed about." He starts to calm down some so Jaehyun stands and pulls him up as well.
"Come on, I'll run you a bath." Taeyong nods and holds his hand all the way into the bathroom and doesn't let go even as he is getting the water ready. When it finally is ready Taeyong freezes.
"Please stay, don't leave me?" Jaehyun smiles his gentle smile and promises to stay. Taeyong just stands there in his wet clothing, feeling defeated and humiliated and degraded. He absolutely knows who's fault it is, his own.
"I'm sorry, for being an emotional wreck b-but." Jaehyun holds him from behind as he starts to tremble.
"Let me help you." Taeyong agrees and allows Jaehyun to undress him. Of course the latter being madly in love with him does everything he can to be a hundred percent respectful and not look at him. He starts with his socks, slightly tickling the other earning a jolt and small giggle. Jaehyun likes to see this side coming out in him. He warns him before pulling his pants down then holding his hands and having him step out. He can't resist the sweet look of absolute trust that Taeyong is giving him and pecks his nose.
"Sorry, you are just cute." He says shyly with pink cheeks. Taeyong turns his red face away and smiles.
"It's ok." Jaehyun now turns him to face the tub so his full front is covered from him and helps take his shirt off. He offers his hand to help him into the tub which he gladly accepts and steps in and sits carefully.
"Tae, is it ok if I step into your room and get my bag? I'll leave the door open." He nods and stares as Jaehyun leaves the doorway to get his bag, his eyes stay glued until he returns.
"I just need to change into my shorts." He says quietly as Taeyong looks down in horror and can see the wet spot on his jeans.
"I'm sorry." He says looking down sadly.
"Don't be." Jaehyun says as he drops his jeans to the floor. He takes a washcloth and washes his legs before putting his shorts on.
Taeyong watches in a daze as he piles their clothes together.
"We'll wash those when you're done here." He hands Taeyong a clean washcloth and instructs him to wash. Taeyong does so, slowly as he keeps daydreaming.
"Sometimes I wish I could go back in time and change the past. I wish I could be smart enough to see that he was bad for me before I got hooked into a relationship." He plays with the bubbles in the water and looks up to Jaehyun who's sitting on the side of the tub rubbing his shoulders gently with his fingertips.
"Thank you, for being the best person I know and for being here with me, just please don't tell anyone about this?" He says with tears as he points to the laundry. Jaehyun sighs and gets his attention by turning his chin with his fingers.
"I would never do that to you, we don't even have to tell your mother but only on one condition." He says making Taeyong pout.
"You have to at least tell her how scared you were to be alone and you need to let me help you at all times." Taeyong agrees and smiles.
"Ok good, now did you eat?" Taeyong shakes his head no earning a small frown from the other.
"I'm sorry, I was scared and couldn't leave my room. It was dark and the hallway scared me and I didn't want to get hurt again so I stayed in there." Jaehyun grabs his hand and kisses his fingers.
"Come, I'm making you dinner." He says sweetly.

After Taeyong was dressed in the warmest, fuzziest jammies he has, him and Jae walked to the laundry room then into the kitchen. True to his word Jaehyun cooked him a delicious meal and snuggles him in his room until his mother came home.
"I would stay all night every night if I could but I'm sure your mom doesn't want me moving in with you just yet." Taeyong kisses his cheek softly.
"Thank you Jae, my Hyunnie. I'm so glad to have you in my life again." He says sincerely as Jae backs out of his room. Taeyong feels a lot better now and is so happy to have a little of Jaehyun's scent to snuggle into his pillow and sniff to keep calm.
Jaehyun and Taeyong's mother talked about him having someone with him all the time for now and true to his word he kept his secret.
