The machine clinked happily as I pressed the check in button before scanning my security card.
"Hello Alex!" I grinned as the ginger male passing me handed over a coffee. Sweet, sweet caffeine!
"Sup, Ollie. Ready for another exciting shift?"
"Pfft." I swatted at him playfully. "You know that nothing ever happens. Just once, I wish someone would, like, break in or some shit."
"In our dreams." He sighed wistfully. "But even then, the S.T.A.F.F bots would be on the case before we could be. Just one of the many perks of working for Fazbear, huh."
"Well, hey. Beats being a waitress. You've only ever known this life, Al. The life of the night shift. But trust me when I say that it's much, much worse up there in the day shift. Especially as a waitress. You know how shit the higher-ups are at dealing with bad customers, too. Sean especially. That slimy-"
"That's what you get for doing every job they throw at you." He stuck his tongue out and pulled the skin of one cheek down. "You could run this whole joint yourself by now."
"Don't be so dramatic."
"You can waitress, you did cleaning shifts for a week-"
"I was covering for Daisy!"
"You helped out the mechanics for a while when Dan broke his foot, you're the security guard now. Next you'll be on stage with the animatronics. Maybe you could do a set with DJMM?"
"Oh, now you're taking the piss." I shoved him, and his skinny ass almost toppled over. He yanked a stray chunk of my black bangs that were, once again, falling from my rushed updo in retaliation. "Shut up and get your ass to the camera room. And make sure your walkie-talkie is on this time!" I called out as he scuttled away, laughing as he went.

"Please, Liv! You're our only hope!" I could only stare at the manager, blue eyes wide in shock. He was practically on his knees, begging me to take on this new job.
"How can I? I'm not a mechanic! Just because I was Dan's assistant for a while, doesn't mean I'm capable of caring for and repairing extremely advanced animatronics!"
"You're the closest we have, Liv. Please! It's just until we can hire a replacement. Your hours will be pretty much the same, and I'll pay you double!" I ran an exasperated hand through my hair, tugging at it. Doubled pay is something I really need right now...
"If anything goes wrong, it's on you, not me." Sean's eyes lit up as his signature charming smile tugged at his botox-filled cheeks.
"Is that a yes?"
"Yeah. I guess it is."
"Oh, I could kiss you! You're a star! An angel!" I rolled my eyes. "You, Olive, are a proud new member of the Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex. Take good care of them, won't you?" He winked before sauntering into his office. A groan escaped my lips once he was out of earshot.
"There's four of them. They're the most advanced AI animatronics around. And now they're my problem. Four..."
I recalled some manuals from my time being an assistant. I'd never actually worked with the animatronics. Dan just had me running around to collect, replace, or tidy things. During the night shifts, I'd either stay in one of the offices, or avoid any free roaming robots as best I could. They're lowkey scary. But I knew that learning all about their ins and outs would help my fears. And then I'd at least have an idea of what I was doing.
So, I found all of the manuals I could find in that cramped little office, and read. Boy, was there a lot to get through. But I made her way through the large pile in good time, and even made little index cards for each of the four and their common repairs.
"Only two hours after my usual leave time. Not too shabby." I smiled despite knowing that I'd get scolded for leaving so late. They hated paying for overtime in this place. My eyes drifted to the animatronics as I made my way through the atrium to leave. They were standing in a tight group, almost as if they were deep in discussion. A bit unnerving, actually. "See you lot tonight, I suppose."

Hello and welcome to the fic! This is just a short intro chapter, things will pick up in length soon!
Just a quick note that in future chapters, '~' will be used to indicate a change in the point of view. It'll swap between Olive and Freddy. I think it's pretty clear which it is, but I'll be happy to clarify if needed. The two POV's will overlap slightly, but I'll try not to let it get too repetitive. Let me know if it does!
