Chapter 14: Min and Keevah

The herd continued their way to the Mountain of Hope as the sun was slowly starting to set

"I think we should stop here, it's getting late" Shira said

"I think we should keep going" Manny replied

"What?!"

They all turned to buck who had a dinosaur skull in his hand

"To become a midnight snack?! I don't think so!" Buck said with a high-pitched voice and pretended that the skull said it

"Shira and the skull are right. So, sit down, we're spending the night here" Buck announced

Sid made a campfire and everyone sat down around the fire

They thought it'll be good idea to kill their stress with some stories and so they did

Min and Keevah took a small walk not too far away from the others and just wanted some time for themselves

"You have a nice family, you know that?" Keevah asked Min

"Yeah, they're the best thing that has ever happened to me and Kai. And your return made it even better" Min replied with a smile

"Really?" Keevah asked

"Yeah, we missed you and it's good to see you again" Min replied with a slight blush

"It's good to see you too, Min" Keevah smiled

Mom's heart was pounding like crazy as he tried to hide his red cheeks

"S-so, uhm. Should we go back? It's getting pretty dark" Min stuttered

"Yeah, let's go" Keevah replied as they made their way back to the others

"You idiot! You had to screw up! *sigh* never mind, tomorrow's another day" Min thought to himself as he felt ashamed of not telling her how he felt about her

"Well, look who came back" Kai smirked

"About time, let's get some sleep, we have a big day tomorrow" Manny said

"I'll keep watch" Buck assured

"No, Buck. The night is for possums!" Crash assured

"Yeah, we own the night, baby!" Eddie agreed

Crash and Eddie suddenly fell to the ground while snoring peacefully

Everyone slept around the fire while Buck was staying up

It would've been a peaceful night if it wasn't for Sid's snoring and sleep talking and the roaring of dinosaurs

Back in the Ice Age, everyone was asleep, except for Ellie

She tried to ease her worries, but couldn't

"Mom? Are you ok?" Peaches yawned

"Yeah, sweetie. I'm fine, it's just a rough night. Get some sleep" Ellie replied as Peaches went back to sleep

"Goodnight, Mom" Peaches mumbled

"Goodnight, Peaches" Ellie replied as she looked up to the sky and added

"Goodnight, Manny"

Then she went to sleep along with the others

Meanwhile, Morana and the gang finally managed to get around the chasm

"I don't know if it was worth it, but we finally made it" Jarod panted as he collapsed to the ground

Morana looked at the path and saw the herd's paw prints

"We could catch them up tomorrow, sleep. We need our strength" Morana grumbled

Everyone looked up in confusion, they never expected someone like Morana to say that

Everyone got under a tree and slept through the night
