Chapter 1: False Alarm

It was a beautiful, sunny day in the valley

A squirrel was hoping through the field and stopped to see his acorn lying on the path

He squeaked happily as he hopped towards it and picked it up as he hugged it

Scrat heard foot stumping coming his way, rather like someone was running

He looked back to see Kai running with great speed while holding a turtle shell that was filled with water

"It's gonna happen!" Kai yelled as he almost stepped on Scrat as he continued running, followed by Min. Nathan and Ryan

Scrat hissed at them as he raised his fist and ran off with his acorn

Kai ran past a couple of mammals, spilling some of the water as he shouted

"The baby's coming! The baby's coming! Out of the way, I'm having a baby!"

"Hey, watch it!" One of the mammals said angrily

"Hurry, Kai!" Min yelled from behind

"What will it be? A boy or a girl?" Ryan asked while running

"I don't know" Nathan replied while running

"We're having a baby. I'm coming, Noa!" Kai yelled, when he saw that he was running towards a cliff and stopped just in time

"Phew!" Kai sighed in relief

He looked back to see Min and Nathan stop as well when they saw the edge of the cliff

Ryan was too late and ran into the others as they all fell down while hitting a couple of trees on the way down

They grunted upon impact as Kai ran around like a headless chicken with the turtle shell on his head

"Noa! Noa! Noa, where are you?! W-where am I?!" Kai yelled as his voice echoed through the shell when he heard Noa's voice

"Kai"

He turned to the direction of her voice while Min, Nathan and Ryan got up while groaning in pain

"I told you it was just a kick" Noa giggled as she rubbed her belly that has been growing for the past months

Kai took the shell off of his head as he was soaking wet

"Oh, right, right! Phew!" Kai giggled nervously as he looked at his wife's belly

"Oh, you really have Daddy a scare! Daddy got silly, Daddy fall down cliff and go boom, boom, boom, boom! Silly Daddy" Kai cooed as Noa smiled sweetly

Manny, Ellie, Sid and Brooke soon gathered around as a few mammals did as well

Kai looked up too see the mammals stare at him as he cleared his throat

"Uh, sorry, everyone. False alarm, it was just a kick" Kai said as everyone sighed in disappointment

"I'd kick your butt, you know that?" One of the mammals yelled

"That's already the fourth time this week" another spoke up

"I can't believe we just fell down for- ouch!" Min groaned as he sat down

"Kai, I know you're excited, I am too. But you're getting a little carried away" Noa said

"Yeah, tell me about it. But one thing, you guys will be expecting a baby within a few days" Marco replied

"True" Noa and Kai smiled

"Trust me, Kai. I've been through all of that too, always paranoid and worried" Manny said

"So you admit it" Ellie smirked as Manny sighed in return

"I'm pretty curious about how you're gonna name your baby" Brooke smiled

"Well, we have been brainstorming about names" Noa replied as Kai nodded

"How's it going with Lily and Chase?" Kai asked

"They're doing great, they're growing up so fast" Sid replied

"They're at the playground" Brooke said

"Then we'll come and look" Kai said
