Chapter 15: The Plates of Woe

The next morning, everyone woke up and got ready to leave

On their way, Kai felt uneasy about something, like something... or someone was watching them

"Kai?"

Kai shot out of his trance and looked at Noa who looked worried

"Are you ok?" Noa asked

"Y-yeah, I'm fine, don't worry" Kai assured as he tried to brush off the feeling of being watched

The cave lions and wolf were close by yet far away from the herd so that they couldn't be seen or heard

"Just a question, isn't this the way to the Lava Falls as well?" Diego asked the weasel

"That's right! But when we pass the Lava Falls, there's a whole way to go to the Mountain of Hope" Buck replied

"Ok. I hope we'll get there in time" Shira replied with worry

"Don't worry, Gavin and the others are great babysitters. Nothing can go wrong!" Buck assured as Min turned to Keevah and said

"Hey, Keevah. I don't know if we can maybe, uh, do- WHAAA!"

Min tripped over his own legs and fell down and rolled down a small hill

Crash and Eddie laughed their heads off while rolling on Manny's back

"Will you two knock it off?!" Manny fumed

Min looked up and saw large rocks scattered all over the place as he got up

The others hurried over to him

"Are you ok?" Keevah asked as Min nodded

"We're here"

They all turned to Buck who stared down at the stone plates

"Whoa" Nathan and Ryan breathed out

"Exactly. The Plates of Woe" Buck finished

While the herd were passing the path of boulder, Morana was on top of the cliff and looked down at the passing herd

"Hurry up, friends! It's not the most stable place here!" Buck called out as Min asked

"What do you mean not sta-"

One of the plates slipped from under his foot and fell, but luckily Keevah held him so he wouldn't fall

Morana chuckled evilly as she glanced over at a big boulder

"Why not just fool around for one time?" Morana whispered as she pushed the boulder off the edge

The boulder landed right behind the herd and caused the stone plates to fall down

Everyone saw that and Manny yelled

"Everybody, run!"

The herd ran as fast as they could while trying to hold their balance so they wouldn't fall down

But unfortunately, Min, Nathan and Ryan couldn't keep their balance and fell down along with the plates as they scream

"Guys!" Everyone screamed as the three boys disappeared into the dust

Morana and the gang were at the top of the cliff and looked down at the distressed herd

"Uhm, we were supposed to follow them, but why are we holding them back?" Jarod asked

"I just wanted to watch them for entertainment, then we have a long way to go" Morana explained

"But, ma'am. Isn't it smarter to just destroy them already?" Leo asked

"Ha! If they arrive at the Mountain of Hope, they'll reunite with those fur balls and them we can destroy ALL of them, blockhead" Morana snarked as she raised her paw, which made Leo flinch and whimper

"How many times do I got to explain that?" Morana mumbled irritated
