Kai awoke and sat up on his bed. How'd he get there? He didn't remember past getting saved by the emo kid. His head hurt, like he'd been hit by a cannonball.

He looked to his bedside table. There was some ibuprofen and a glass of water sitting on it. He was aware of the unbearable pain in his back. It was hot, almost as hot as before he let the heat out. But it was close.

Kai'd gotten drunk. That's what. "I forgot drinking also made it worse." He was often dumb in remembering that certain things made the heat worse.

There was a knock at his door and Lloyd entered. "Morning you drunkard. How's the hangover?" He teased, taking a seat next to Kai.

"How the hell did I get home?" Kai asked. "I was for sure in trouble."

"Jay found you being helped by another kid. He flew you home." Lloyd smacked Kai upside the head. "You almost outed yourself you idiot!"

"Ow!" Kai rubbed his head. "Whaddya mean I almost outed myself? I mean, we already established that I'm-"

"Not that you dolt. Your exercise." Lloyd said, folding his arms.

"I did? Crap! What happened! What did I do!" Kai panicked, making his back hurt more.

"Jay said that you were surprised to be flying on the dragon, and proclaimed that you could fly too. He tried to explain to you in your drunken state about your dragon. But you said that he was funny, and said 'my wings are very pretty.' You're lucky you were drunk, and I used the conversation earlier as a reason to why it may have happened." Lloyd said.

Kai groaned. "Oh I didn't think about that. I didn't mean to have THAT much. Just a small one. Then I was challenged to a drinking contest."

"You should wait a week or so before exercising again, to make sure nobody's suspicious." Lloyd precautioned.

"I can't. Certain things make the heat flare up more. Like stress. The alcohol does that too. I have to, or my back will sear itself off." Kai complained.

"Well you shouldn't. Unless you want to get caught." Lloyd said with a small frown.

Kai sighed and flopped backwards on the bed. "Fine. You're right. Are you my voice of reason now?"

Lloyd chuckled at the thought. "Maybe. Because you're dumb. I found out the first time cause you're stupid. Usually that's when someone is the most cautious."

"Found out what?" Cole poked his head into the room.

Kai panicked, pain spiking in his back more. "Ack! Owch!"

"Heh heh, just his alcohol problem." Lloyd improvised. It really had been Zane who found out Kai drank. It had never been a big problem though.

Kai looked at Lloyd. "I'm not that bad." He shot up to his feet. "Okay. I'm going to the bathroom. Excuse me."

Kai hurried to the bathroom and locked the door. His back seared with pain of the heat. He let out his wings and kept in the heat.

"Why? They didn't feel like this originally. Is my body more sensitive because of the alcohol? Shit." He might have to stay in the bathroom all day. "Lloyd!" If that was the only person who could help him, so be it.

Lloyd tried to open the door, but it was locked. "Hey. What's up?"

Kai opened the door and spoke with his head out. "In my room on the desk, there's some sunscreen and lotion next to each other. Can you grab those for me."

Lloyd nodded. "Sure buddy. Give me a second."

Kai locked the door back up and looked in the mirror. He really looked tired. Kai turned around and looked at his back. He was horrified at how it looked. There were burn marks starting to form, along with a few already happening ones. "Oh God. No wonder-"
