Fire wings -Ninjago (In Progress)

Chapter 6

~~~A week later~~~

Kai woke up on his bed. He was laying on his stomach. His wings stood up but were folded shut. His back had stopped hurting about three days ago. The burning had stopped the day or so after. Lloyd said that the scars and burns were almost gone.

Lloyd and Cole had kept everyone away, saying Kai was just sick and didn't want anyone to come in. Nya tried to insist on taking care of her brother but they kept her out.

He was going to put his wings away and put on a baggy shirt. He just wanted to leave his room. He was just waiting for an all clear from Lloyd or Cole.

He was glad to have his wings out for longer than a few hours at a time. But not like this. Kai made a mental not to never drink competitively again.

If this was any indication, it could get worse. There was a lot of heat once again contained in his wings. Even though his back wouldn't get any more burns, he still didn't want the heat or fire to burn down the monastery.

The door to his room opened and Lloyd walked in. "Morning. Let me see your back."

The green ninja walked up to the red one, examining his back. "You can put your wings away and go about the house, but I'd like to put one more coating of the healing lotion today. Then no more."

Kai just nodded miserably. He let Lloyd put on the lotion. "Should I act mildly under the weather?"

"Nah. Just leave it. If you try to act sick, Zaneay just see right through it. It's been long enough anyways."

They finished putting on the lotion and Kai stood up. He opened his back and put the wings in. They were hot again, but he couldn't fly for at least two more days.

"Now put on a shirt. We don't need the others seeing what burns are left." Lloyd said.

Kai waved him off. "Yeah yeah. I'm not stupid." He walked over and picked one of his baggy shirts. He carefully put it on just to be safe.

"You kinda are man. I don't know." Lloyd joked with a smirk.

"It was that one thing, and I thought you were in your room." Kai defended.

They went to the door and walked out. "I suppose that the living room in a pile of beanbags is a weird place to sleep on purpose."

Kai was the first one in the kitchen of the two. Everyone else was there. Lloyd walked in after Kai.

"Hey look! It's the sicko man!" Nya pointed jokingly.

The eyes in the room went to Kai. He smiled and waved. "Hey guys." He expected more of a reaction. Like, they hadn't seen him in a week. Not even a glimpse..

"Good to see you are doing well Kai." Zane said kindly. He was making hash bowns.

"Thanks. Cole and Lloyd made sure I survived well enough. Can I get some of those?"

Zane nodded. "Yeah. Just let them finish cooking."

Jay walked up to him. He grabbed Kai's face and stared into his eyes. Kai looked back, slightly shocked. "If you're going to get sick like this every time, you are no longer allowed to drink."

Kai gave a nervous chuckle. "Sorry. But you don't have to worry about me drinking like that again. Heh "

Jay let go and gave a smile. "Good. Glad to see you back out of your room!"

Cole was sitting at the table eating cereal, watching everyone buzz about. He was still a bit in shock about Kai. Those wings were not natural, but yet, was a natural beauty.
