Fire wings -Ninjago (In Progress)

Chapter 8

Kai looked at his broken wing. It was wrapped to his back by the bandages Zane had used the night before. It felt sore, and the breaks hurt even if nothing was touching them.

It was nine in the morning, and everyone was up and about. Nobody had come to bother him. So Kai assumed that Cole and Lloyd and perhaps Zane, had come up with an excuse as to why Kai was in his room.

He prayed that he wouldn't have to be stuck in his room for six months. He couldn't do it. Kai was sure he'd go mad after one. He listened for the noise outside the door. The walls were thin, but he couldn't hear much.

Cole stood in the kitchen with the others, talking. His fingers were intertwined with Zane's as they held hands. The titanium hand of the nindroid was cold, which felt good against his own hot hand.

Cole and Lloyd had given the excuse that Kai had a migraine, and Zane had pretend to confirm it was true. Jay was understandably sad that the date was canceled. He'd wanted to go out with Kai for a long time.

"He can barely get up without feeling nauseous." Cole said. "He says he's sorry, but just wants to sleep all day."

Jay nodded. "I understand. I would want to as well. Maybe I'll buy him some tea to help or something."

Nya patted Jay on the back. "We'll go do something instead! But what will the rest of you do?"

"I shall stay home. I'll make sure Kai gets food and water." Zane said.

"I think Cole and I were going to do some shopping. Then I was going to go visit Ethan." Lloyd smiled and a blush dusted his cheeks.

Nya giggled. "Aww! You have to introduce us to your boyfriend!"

Lloyd chuckled nervously. "Maybe at some point. I have to make sure he'd be comfortable first."

"Don't push yourself to do so. We'll wait till you're both ready." Jay said.

Cole cleared his throat. "I agree, but we should get going." He nudged Lloyd with his elbow. "The sooner you get done shopping, the sooner you can see your love."

Nya nodded, grabbing Jay's hand. "Yeah! We're going to get candy. See you guys later." She dragged the lightning ninja behind her and outside.

Lloyd looked at the couple. "Alright, Cole and I will go find some tea to help the healing process. We can't afford to hide Kai for six months."

"I'll ask Kai any questions. Because I'm sure he can answer just as well as you two. But thank you for coming to me instead of trying to solve the problem yourselves. That could have caused problems." Zane said.

Cole smiled. "You know best. And I just think Kai didn't care as long as the pain stopped. But I hope the fire returns to his wing as it heals."

Lloyd nodded. "I believe it'll be fine if the tea we can get pushes it down to a week. Maybe we'll get away with it. Anyways. Go check on Kai, and Cole will be back soon."

Zane nodded and turned to go to Kai's room as the last two left. The nindroid knocked on Kai's door and waited for an answer.

"Who is it?" Kai's voice asked.

"Just me. Everyone has left the monastery." Zane said.

"Come in."
