Fire wings -Ninjago (In Progress)

Mini Story

I'm sick. This is the worst headcold I've had in a while. And the second one in two weeks. So I decided to write a very tiny fluff chapter. Cause that'll heal me, but I'm too sick for long writing.

Takes place during the year gap between chapters 11 and 12. Enjoy!

Kai sniffled with his half runny, half stuffy nose. He had been stuck in bed for almost a week with a horrible headcold. He had slept a good chunk of the time and drank lots of water, so he had no idea how this headcold was keeping him down for so long.

Kai sneezed loudly, clearing his sinuses for a split second before clogging again. He groaned, leaning his head back before sneezing two more times. "God, this is just misery."

He had made sure the others had left him alone so that they wouldn't get sick. It seemed he was stuck in his room for one reason of another these days. A week at a time. It was starting to get annoying. But at least he was actually sick this time.

A knock sounded on the door and Jay poked his head in. "Hey Kai. You still feeling like shit?"

Kai groaned and faced the door. "Yeah. This is awful."

Jay walked in, holding a bowl of soup. "Well, I figured some chicken noodle soup would help. I took Skylor's family recipe with her permission. She was pretty wiling when she heard you'd had a headcold for a a week."

The lightning ninja walked over and handed Kai the bowl. The fire ninja looked at the noodles and smelled them as best as he could with his clogged nose. Chen noodles were the best. He could never disagree with that.

He took a spoonful of chicken, noodles, and broth, eating it. It tasted so good. "Mmm~ Yeah, that hits the spot."

Jay smiled. "Glad you like it. I wasn't sure if I made the recipe correctly."

Kai shrugged. "Well, I am sick, so I doubt I'm tasting it even remotely correctly. It's most likely just memory taste."

"Yeah, but at least it tastes good." Jay said. "Anyway, I'll come check on you later. Eat well."

Kai finished the soup and placed the bowl on his nightstand. That was some damn good soup. He'd have to thank Skylor for giving Jay the recipe.

Taking a deep breath through his unclogged nose the soup blessed him with, Kai lay back into bed to sleep the fever off some more.

He woke up hours later, when the sun stopped annoyingly shining through the window. His head felt less stuffy, but that was just because he only barely woke up.

The door swung open with a squeak. Kai looked over. Nobody had knocked or anything.

A loud sneeze made Kai jump as Jay came in. "Hey, mind if I join you?" Jay spoke with a nasaly voice. "I took a nap and woke up feeling like crap."

Kai laughed and welcomed Jay in. He held up the blankets covering him.

Jay walked over, laying on the bed and curling in a ball as Kai placed the blanket over him.

"Now we're both sick." Jay moped.

Kai smiled. "That's alright. At least we can be miserable together."

Jay huffed, but a tiny smile crept on his lips. "Yeah. I guess so."

Jay closed his eyes and fell asleep. Kai smiled and squeezed Jay in a tight hug. He yawned and fall back asleep as well.
