The next day seemed like eternity. Thats when Calliope decided to have one final run before gathering her things and getting hell away from what ever this was. That is until she ran right into the middle of Mateos pack training ground. Somehow her wolf steered her towards him no matter which way she went.
"It is you." He whispered softly. Again and again each time softer and even more quiet before it being barely a whisper as he stalked towards her.
His eyes wide open staring into her green ones. Noticing the long brown hair pulled up in a messy low bun. Before he got within his arms reach her legs had a mind of their own and so they ran as fast as she has ever went. Away deeper into the woods away from this feeling inside of her that bubbled up into rage. Not stopping until she collided with something hard. Both of them falling onto the grass tumbling and coming to a stop with his body pinning hers to the ground.
She groaned in pain before opening her eyes to stair once again into his big deep brown ones.
"It is you." He whispered softly.
The scent of fresh crushed almonds and cherries lifting off of her warm skin. He took a deep breath taking in all the scents, his senses going crazy. He felt tingles running up his arms from the touch of her palms under his, pinned at the sides of her head.
Her heart rate rises as she feels the same sensation radiating from her palms through the entire body. Confusion written all over her face. He reluctantly gets up now standing beside her. Stretching his hand out offering help. As Calliope rolled onto her knees and got up herself he just watched in amazement. Eyes fixed on her body. Analysing every move she made ready in case she decides to run again.
"How..." His voice trailed still not fully believing in who stood before him.
"How what?" She snapped at him. Now walking up and down between the nearest trees and trying not to look at the man standing in front. Her rage rises with every second he doesn't reply.
"How are you alive?" He said, amazed. "I mean I heard a girl with a bite. But I never thought it was you because..." His words were silenced, never finishing the sentence.
She stopped pacing around to take a look at him while he took one big step closer. At this she took a step back. "Because you left me to die at the side of the road, or because you meant to kill me and not get me freaking turned?" The stare she gave could easily shoot daggers at him.
"Can I see?" He said, pointing to her neck just out of his reach. "The mark?" Unknowingly her hand wandered towards the mark that was covered by the long hair falling down the front of her shoulder covering most of it.
Out of the blue she stepped right in front of him hitting his chest trying to push him back. Not to mention all the efforts didn't even get a quake out of his stance. She tries again and again now shouting things he couldn't make out while admiring her rage. Her bun came undone with the hair cascading down her back.
She was a head shorter than him although his muscular frame could have made her half his size. Out of nowhere she slapped his face, taking him out of his thoughts and wiping the smirk off in one strike. He snatched her hand holding tight. Looking at her squirming trying to get out of his grasp.
In a way he enjoyed this. The animal in him growled knowing once he let her go he might not get a chance to touch her again. So instead of letting her go he pulled her closer and spun her to face the back holding her against him. She did not protest as she felt the strong connection between them. With his other hand he moved her hair uncovering the bite mark. She tilted her head letting him explore her neck with his eyes. The round scar wrapping around her front and back of the neck. The bite resembled that of an animal he was.
Calliope felt his breath tickle her bare neck, sending shivers down her whole body and her lips to part. Her heart picked up not out of anger this time. She felt like no one was watching. He closed the gap kissing her scar. A slight quiet moan escaped her lips. At this he smirked, liking the effect he had on her.
"You're ..." He began but was cut short as she freed herself from his grip and walking away shouted,
"Keep away from me." Jogging out into the clearing her eyes landed on the same guy who earlier gave her a head start distracting Mateo. Who now switched his gaze onto a person behind her who must have allowed her to leave. Otherwise she was sure he would be easily able to restrain her.
Slowly she made her way to her cabin. Closing the door and sitting with her back to it. 'What the hell was that.' she taught staring into the distance touching the spot he kissed. It still tingled just at the thought of it. Another shiver ran through her. 'It doesn't matter. I'll be out by tomorrow.'
