"When is our new Luna going to join the family dinners?" It hasn't even been a month and Mateos mother, the former Luna of this pack, is already looking for grandkids Mateo taught.

"Not today Mom." He said a little sadness sneaking into his voice.

"When your father found me he wouldn't let me out of his sight even for a minute but I never see you with her. You're either at work or training the pack. You should make some time to get to know your true love."

"I have a feeling she won't want to see me for a while." He murmured meeting Seths gaze who has slightly nodded in agreement to their unspoken arrangement.

"You might underestimate the bond pull." After this the dinner went by without another mention of his mate.

Although the night was long he could not get comfortable enough to sleep. Not long after he gave up and simply rested with eyes opened gazing at the ceiling of his bedroom thinking about no other than his forbidden mate. The vision popped back into his mind replaying once again.

The vision started in a fog. Or perhaps only his vision was fogged. The cherry sweet laughter of a girl as his vision slowly began to clear. He saw himself, his clothes, his smell, his hair as the rest of his body and the girl running looked familiar but he could not yet make out the details of who she was. He began to run after her coming closer and closer until they stood at the same cliff as the day Calleopy almost drowned.

It was her. Those beautiful full eyes, The swishing hair pinned in a pony tail now he has clear vision of her. She walks closer to him giving him a quick peck on the lips before running back into the forest. A big goofy grin spread on his lips. Vision or not this was something he longs for. The warmth of his destined lover.

He ran after her as the surroundings began to fog up once again. Calliopes form getting less visible until she disappears between the trees. Out of panic the Alpha called out her name over and over running straight to where he was her last.

He turned around and there she was almost consumed by the fog. But there was something off about her. She stood dead still. He walked closer until his eyes caught a glimpse of something that made his blood run cold.

A stake piercing through her heart.

His eyes fixed on the foreign object in his lovers chest almost made him miss the dark shadow of a figure behind the girl. Mateo ran towards them but before he got there the shadow had vanished. Leaving the girl in his arms bleeding out trying to speak muttering inaudibly.

"It's not possible." Mateo moaned out annoyed at how confused the vision made him feel. "She's a freaking werewolf! A stake does not kill those. Not this fast at least." After this he twisted and turned but eventually fell asleep only to be woken up by his overly loud alarm clock for another day of torture.

As it was the weekend his schedule was completley different. No more traditional type of work but   rather mentoring, sparring and training up the young ones. The life of an Alpha meant work 7 days a week. It was something his father was proud of and now he is proud to fill his shoes and direct everyone in his pack in peace.

He made his way to the training ground filled with outside exercise equipment and a big two story shed. It was filled with one football pitch, the smell of pristine clean smell of a pool mixed with the sweaty stench of a gym on the second floor.

It smelled like his childhood. He remembered spending every weekend here watching his father train up the older boys while his mother took under her wing the young girls training them. At the time he didn't think much of it but as he got older his mind about the divide between female and male responsibilities changed. He wasn't the only one who rebelled against the old ways under the old Alphas rule. Although he was loved by all his stubbornness to listen to the younger generations was overpowered by a long shot.

He promised himself to give equal opportunities. It began with choosing his Beta and Gamma. To many of the elders his choice was categorised by him being too young and as they had said, 'Give the boy a chance to feel the power before he gets sent back down to earth'. His Beta was Seth one of the longest friends he had. They knew each other ever since kindergarten. Always getting into trouble together. Which is probably why they ended up so close.

Mateos Gamma was Lisie. She was the first female to be ranked anything than a mate to an important positioned man. Looked down upon by the elders. But her strong personality and physique made her his perfect second in command.

Seeing them both sparring on the pitch as he walked in making eye contact with them both one at a time. "Okay ladies," His voice boomed. "It's a beautiful day, let's take this outside." They both patted his back walking alongside to the outside training ground.

Everyone gathered around as Lissie stepped into the fighting ring. "Wanna bet I can kick your ass in less than 10 minutes?" She smirked looking straight at the Alpha.

"Oh you're on, Lis." He chuckled stepping and getting into position. "What do I get if I win?"

"What do I get if I win is the real question." She spoke right before taking the first swing and missing the target.

"What do you want?" He counter attacked locking her in between his arms from behind.

"I want to be the one to train the new ones" She said loud and clear for all the gathered to stand witness of their deal. Which took him by surprise loosening his grip giving her enough time to slip out and striking her fist into his lower rib cage with her full force. Sending his groaning a little down.

"Under Seths supervision you may." He croaked. She lunged at him once again managing to strike his lower high making him kneel. He took a big breath as the smell of cherries and pine forest entered his nostrils. He would always recognise that heavenly smell. It was her.

"I want you to teach Luna our ways." He flipped Lissie who attempted to tackle him down with a big thud.

"Why, because I'm a woman?" She said gritting her teeth in discomfort as he pinned her Dows stretching out her arm.

"Not because you are a woman Lis." He tugged at her arm more and more feeling like her limit to breaking it was close.

She unwillingly tapped out giving out a shout of defeat and annoyance.

"Because you are the only woman that can." There was context under his words. She nodded accepting her role in this pack for the time being.

"She better be a quick study." She said hopping off the arena walking off towards Seth as he gathered the trainees ready to start the lessons.

The Alphas eyes scanned the tree line until they met hers.

His Luna. As pure looking as the day he first laid his eyes on her. They held their gaze for seconds before she turned around leaving with Sam right behind her. Mateo shook his head before joining the days training.
