Warning: Gory descriptions some audience might not appreciate."Samuel..." Calliopes voice trailed into the distance as he pulled her away from the invisible to him wall. The further they got the more lucid she became. Blinking her doe eyes overflowing with confusion. She began to struggle against the mans hold until he decided the safe distance was enough.
"Sam, what was that?" She calmly asked looking into the distant clearing they just backed away from.
"The witches barrier Poppy. We need to wait her out." Sams voice was emotionless as he settled his bag on the ground.
"We can cross it. I know we can." She said turning her attention to Mateo who was silently leaned against one of the grand old trees.
"I can feel it, even if it's there and we're here." She points towards the distance with one hand, with the other she places it on her chest saying "I feel it, it's silent but it calls." Her flustered face looks away from the men and back towards the distant shields. "It's my life you're trying to save but back away now? After bringing me all the way here, Sam..." She looked at Sam with questioning eyes. "... Mateo." She haas never before used his real name. He didn't even think she knew it. At the sound of it her stood straight meeting her eyes. "We can't just camp out here guys. Let's go."
"You seem to loose your mind around this kind of magic." Sam raised his eye brown in question. "Why don't we first figure that out before going into a certain trap?"
"Do we have the time to do that? She probably knows we're here by now." Calliope shrugged saying "and anyways what's the worst that can happen?" In her mind she hoped that them being turned into frogs is the worst case scenario. Even in her own head she didn't sound one bit confident. The both men glance at each other as if silently talking with their eyes. For a fact she knew it was impossible, or was it now. Anyway she chose to believe it was not possible. At least not cross breed human to werewolf.
After couple more seconds they began to pick up their stuff of off the floor and with grunts of annoyance, probably at how right she was, began to walk back towards the invisible to them shield. This Time just like last as the trio got closer to the magic something in Calliopes demeanour changed.
She seemed more relaxed almost enchanted, childish and at the same time freed of any judgment. She seemed content with what is to come and trusting. Perhaps a tad bit too trusting making her seem gullible. Where as in contrast the two mens shoulders tensed. Their weapons ready to strike what ever was hiding on the other side as they crossed over.
For them things happened in a blink of an eye. One second they were standing in the middle of the forest and the next the smell of rotten flesh overwhelming their senses. They were being held captive in what seemed like a steel cage. There were various ruins and writings carved into the bars in languages none of them were familiar with and blue flames surrounded the bottom of the cage not emanating any heat.
For her the experience was tranquil. Walking into the shield she felt an intense cool pressure coating her body as if she was wearing nothing but her birthday suit. Her senses uncovering the beauty of the place before she even saw it. The sounds of a waterfall in the distance and the singing of the birds accompanied with a slight rustle of the leaves. Opening her eyes she expected to see the most magnificent picture of peace and harmony.
Instead her eyes were presented by a small house hidden amongst the trees nearly visible from afar. There was a stream of water falling over rocks in the distance to the left of the witches house. A lot of wild life bustle and no sign of any human. Is it human that she is looking for? Perhaps witches don't necessarily look 'normal'. Maybe they're a mix between a fairy and a human? Surely they can't be wearing old pointy hats with a big nose and out of place hair that look like lightning struck her.
