Rome stretched his aching back. He was lying on the sofa, watching some corny drama, waiting for his best friend Emma to show up. It was time for their monthly sleepover. The doorbell ringed unexpectedly, making him roll off of the grey furniture and sprint to the door.

"You are late." Rome huffed, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Hi to you too." Emma rolled her eyes before she pushed her best friend off the way, entering a small flat as if it belonged to her.

"Rude," Rome murmured, closing the door behind her. He plopped down on the sofa next to her, eying suspiciously the giant bag she managed to bring with her.

"Are you moving in with me?" He asked curiously.

"As if." She retorted, shaking her head in annoyance. Rome didn't believe her, though. Emma always had crazy ideas, and most of the time, he was their target.

"I was helping mom clean the attic, and look what I found there." Emma grinned as she pulled out the thick ancient-looking book. As soon as Rome's eyes landed on it, the shivers ran down his spine. He had a bad feeling about it.

"What's that?"

"Book."

"I can see that," Rome growled.

"I think it's a spellbook." Emma laughed excitedly, opening the book on the random page.

"You are not going to read from it, are you?" The shorter male gulped.

"Why not?" Emma smirked his way.

"Are you scared?" She added as she observed the nervous male fidgeting uncomfortably beside her.

"I just don't feel good about it." Rome stutter. Of course, Emma would make fun of him.

"Magic is not real. Look." She pointed her finger at the small paragraph, starting to read the weird sentence, aiming her free finger at her best friend at the end. Rome's eyes widened. The room fell silent. The two best friends looked around the space with suspicion, but nothing happened so far.

"I told you it's not real." Emma grinned. Rome frowned. She was probably right, or so he thought. When the window in the living room suddenly opened, letting the cold breeze come inside, he knew Emma fucked up. A big time. His entire body shivered as the small electric wave ran through his whole being, causing him to scream in fear.
