It was a while since Rome slept this well. Snuggling to Pick's warm body was one of the best things that happened so far after the whole spell fiasco. He stretched his aching limbs, unintentionally poking Pick into the ribs. He was still an animal, but it didn't mean he couldn't hurt the sleeping man. He watched Pick shift before he opened his eyes, searching for him with one hand. Rome shifted closer to the wondering fingers, letting the older scoop him up.
"Morning, Rome," Pick mumbled with a raspy voice. Rome snuggled closer to the warm chest, enjoying the soft caresses. He didn't know how to respond, so he settled with a tiny lick on Pick's chin. The older man laughed before he kissed his head. Rome froze. If he were a human right now, his face would be surly red as a tomato.
"Are you hungry?" Pick asked, eying the puppy. Rome wriggles a little in his hold, making him chuckle.
"I am taking it as yes."
Rome blinked a few times as Pick climbed off the bed, taking him to the kitchen. He opened a fridge and closed it again.
"It's empty. If we don't want to die of hunger, we have to go grocery shopping." Pick scratched Rome's head.
"I will get dressed, and we can go." Pick put him on the floor, walking back to his bedroom. Rome wanted to follow him but dismissed the idea immediately. Pick would be mad. He settled on exploring the apartment instead. He strolled to the living room, sniffing around before stopping in front of the small balcony. He raised his tiny head to get a better look outside.
"You can take a look at the balcony later." Pick spoked up from behind him.
"I will give you two choices. You can walk, or I will carry you in this bag." The older man pointed at the big brown bag lying on the floor. Rome looked at it suspiciously. He considered walking, but he didn't know how far the mall was and if he could get there in a dog body. He stepped closer to it, glancing at Pick once before he hopped in. Rome settled comfortably inside, sticking his head out. It was embarrassing, but he liked the idea of Pick carrying him around like this too. He barked, making him know he was ready to go. Pick smiled, picking up the bag.
"You look cute." He said. Rome's heart skipped a beat, and he felt his cheeks heating up. He knew it wouldn't be visible due to the fur, but he hid inside the bag anyway.
