Pick never thought he would encounter something this ridiculous. He was staring at the white puppy that was a guy a second before, and it was staring back.
"Rome?" He asked uncertainly, refusing to believe his own eyes. The Maltese blinked a few times before barking. It tried to wobble out of the pile of clothes, but it was hard for his tiny frame. Rome growled in frustration. It comes out as a cute sound, making him chuckle. Pick stood up from his seat, walking to the dog's side.
"Want some help?" He asked, suppressing a fit of laughter. He swore he had never seen anything this adorable as the glaring teacup Maltese before. He carefully picked Rome in his arms, letting him snuggle to his chest and sulk.
"Do you think you can turn back?"Pick asked, curiously eyeing the animal in his arms. Rome's head tilted to the side, thinking.
"I took it as a no." Pick guessed from Rome's lack of response. He looked around his apartment, not knowing what to do.
"Should I give you a tour? Or do you want to watch TV?" He asked, scratching the puppy's head unknowingly.
"I honestly have no idea how to act around you." He admitted as he chuckled nervously.
"Rome?" Pick frowned when the animal in his arms didn't make any sound. He glanced at him and had to smile. Rome fell asleep.
"Cute." He whispered, sitting down on the sofa, carefully moving the sleeping puppy to a more comfortable position.
"Let's watch some drama then." Pick grabbed the remote control, turning on some random lakorn.
He didn't know how long he was admiring the sleeping puppy when the doorbell rang, waking the tiny animal up.
"I think your friend is here." Pick pointed out, watching Rome yawn as he stood up to go and open a door. As soon as he spotted a short, brown-haired girl, probably the same age as Rome, sending in front of his apartment, he knew it was Emma.
"I assume you are Emma?" Pick ask solely to be sure.
"Yes. Who are you? Where is Rome?" She blurted, peeking over his shoulder.
"Hi. I am Pick. And Rome is here." He pointed at the dog in his arms with his head.
"Come in. We need to talk." He stepped aside, letting the girl walk inside.
