Faylinn and Elwin walked through the open ground, it's been a day now since they lost everything they has ever known.
Suddenly, they was facing the entrance of a dark woods with thick trees.
Some of the trees even seemed to be sparkling. They couldn't go back. They needed to keep going. Faylinn took a deep breath and they went into the woods. The woods was quiet. Only the rustle of the wind in the trees was heard.
The woods felt so lifeless and empty despite the beautiful silver flowers that was blooming and the rustling of the trees. Faylinn noticed the deer and the deer cub who was feasting at the soft grass and white flowers that bloomed among the silver ones. And she smiled for herself. They went away to the crystal blue river that flowed not so far from her and she sat down on her knees to drink the fresh water when she suddenly, heard a strange sound. Something was moving around them. They stood up and turned around, "Hello? Someone there? I mean you no harm! We were just about to leave," Elwin said and they turned to continue her way through the forest down the path when suddenly, creatures with weapons and pointed ears surrounded them with their arrows aimed against them. Faylinn swallowed and put the crystal on her necklace under her shirt.
They were surrounded by strange creatures with bow and arrows aimed against her, and they had nothing to defend themselves with.Faylinn swallowed and held up her hands, "I surrender! I mean you no harm, I promise," And one of the creatures went over to them. He had dark brown hair and brown eyes and his ears were pointed. "You breathe so loud, we could have shot you in the dark, intruders!," Elwin swallowed, looking at his friend. Faylinn swallowed, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bother---," "Save your worthless excuses to The King!," Said the man with pointed ears and dark brown hair said angrily and another of the creatures tied her hands together with a rope. "Walk humans!,"The man with pointed ears and dark brown hair exclaimed angrily as he pushed them forward.
Faylinn knew she couldn't break. She had to be strong. She will find her place. Escape from these strange creatures and find her way home. The creatures lead her further into the forest until they reached a long light stone bridge that lead over another crystal clear river with streaming waterfalls. She didn't dare to look down because it was so high and the river was so far below them. The big gates to what seemed to be a palace opened and the creatures forced them into the palace. The gates closed behind them.
"Don't worry, Faylinn," Elwin whispered, "They are elves. They will not hurt us,"The halls of The North elves had long endured ever since they were build in the very beginning of The First Age. Faylinn and Elwin were taken to The North Elven King's throne room. The man with pointed ears and dark brown hair let go of them after he had brought them before The King. The Elven King sat on the big wooded throne with carvings of vines. King Evindal Of The North Elves were one of the most powerful high elves of Shivanna. Many who did not know the King always thought that he did not have a weakness. But if he would have a weakness, it was his weakness and greed for power. And long he had searched The Light who had been sent from Solania sixteen years ago.
King Evindal had light blonde hair that fell gracefully over his shoulders down his back. He had dark blue eyes and dark eyebrows and if it was something you should not do in the presence of King Evindal, it was to make him angry.
Evindal turned to the elven guard who stood with the two guards who held Faylinn and Elwin firmly. "Captain, who is this girl who's daring to enter Nímara's borders?," He asked.
The Captain of the North Elves guard looked up at his King, "My King, we found the girl and the boy in the woods," And The elven King stood up and went over to Faylinn, "Who are you!? Where do you come from, children!?," And Faylinn swallowed in fear, "We're coming from The Village Vishna. The Orphanage I lived in was destroyed by ugly black creatures with golden horns on their heads," She answered, her voice trembling as she pulled out the necklace Ellette had given her and started fiddling with it.
The elven King noticed the bit of the symbol on the inside of her right wrist that was covered by the sleeve of her shirt. And he looked at her in surprise and grabbed her right wrist and rolled up the sleeve on her shirt to reveal the silver symbol of a star on the inner side of her wrist."My Lord, is something wrong? I've had that since I was a baby," Faylinn began to explain to The Elven King. The Elven King didn't answer. Instead he looked smiled for himself, "I've searched for so long. I can't believe I found you," He whispered for himself so she couldn't hear him."My Lord," Faylinn asked confused and frightened. The Elven King let go of her wrist and turned to The Captain of The North Elves guard, "Take them to the dungeons! Lock her up!,""My Lord, I don't understand,"Faylinn began, "I'm sorry we entered your borders. We didn't know!," And the guards grabbed them and took them away."Father, what was that about? Who is she?,"Eldrin interrupted. And Evindal turned to his son," 'The Light, sion mim (my son)," And Eldrin smiled, "We've finally found her?," And Evindal nodded, "Now, let's feast tonight," And they left the throne room.
