Disaster Strikes....again

Rachel's POV:

The next morning I woke up around 10:30 and I rolled over and grabbed my phone. It was going mental with messages on my group chats. I opened the family group chat

Connie- Rachel, are you ok?? Alicia told me you fainted at school???

Connie- Rachel!!! Answer me!!

Alicia- She's asleep on the sofa Mam. She's fine, she's been checked over by the GP who thinks it was brought on by exhaustion and a side effect of the anaesthesia yesterday.

Connie- Give her a kiss from me. How did your appointment go today?

Alicia- They've removed the plaster, some muscle wastage but I've been referred to physio

Connie- That's great news.

I checked my other group chat. This one was going nuts from the early hours of this morning.

Lindz- Are you still coming to my competition today?

Rosie- Yes we are. Why are you awake so early, the competition doesn't start until 2 this afternoon?

Lindz- I can't sleep I'm nervous

Rosie- You'll do really well. You've been riding since you were tiny

Lindz- I'm going to go to the stables early and get some more practice in

Fran- Guys I hate to be this person but it's 7am on a Saturday please be quiet or talk on private chat you're disturbing my sleep

Rosie- Have some sympathy Francesca

Fran- shut up Rosalyn!

I laughed at all of the messages and got out of bed and pulled on my white fluffy socks and oversized hoodie and went downstairs. I poured myself a glass of orange juice and made myself some breakfast. I went into the living room and sat down on one of the sofas next to Sadie who was watching Peppa pig on Alicia's IPad, "Hey cutie" I tickles her tummy and she giggled

"Ray Ray!. I wove you" She climbed onto my lap and I cuddled her.

"I love you too little girl"

At around 12 I went upstairs to get changed. I pulled on a pair of thermal leggings and layered a peach coloured skirt over the top, I selected a grey sleeveless collared blouse and slipped on my white thick chunky knit cardigan and then pulled on one of my Disney vans. I grabbed my tail comb and tied back the hair that sat on top of my crown and flipped it inside out so it was now an inverted ponytail and then selected two more pieces of hair from either side of my head and repeated the process. I placed a couple of gold flowery slides into my hair and scrunched some Mousse into my curls to give them more bounce. I applied some minimal makeup and slicked on a few layers of lip gloss.

I went downstairs and grabbed a bite to eat. I made myself some Mac and cheese from a microwaveable packet and grated extra cheese on top and then ate it at the breakfast bar.

Before I knew it , Fran was knocking on the front door "I'm coming!" I yelled and made my way to the front door. I pulled on my coat and grabbed my bag with everything In and yelled goodbye to everyone . We climbed into Fran's Mam's car and drove to Rosie's house to pick her up- she was sitting on the wall outside the house swinging her legs when we arrived. Soon we were on our way to the stables where the competition was being held. We climbed out of the car and went to take our seats , we'd made sure to get there early enough so that we could get decent seats.

The competition started and Lindz came on towards the end. We all clutched each other's hands because even we could see her horse was jumpy - she made all of the jumps and then it was time for the last jump - the highest one. As she approached the jump her horse spooked and threw her, she flew through the air and hit the ground with a thud , we all screamed . Her riding instructor ran into the ring and we could see her desperately trying to wake Lindz up, Fran climbed through the bars of the ring and went up to her
