Back to school
Rachel's POV:
Going back to school in a wheelchair was hard but going back to school in a wheelchair and with a feeding tube was going to be ten times harder. I was permitted to do cheerleading and Skating as long as when I started to sweat I increased my fluid intake and I had to increase my Salt intake as well, Thankfully I was only being tube fed overnight so I didn't have to worry about it when I was at school, there was just the whole palaver with my medications that had to be done through my tube, thankfully there was only three medications that had to be done through my tube whilst I was at school- Metoclopramide, Erythromycin and Ondansetron and they were going to make sure I was able to use the Nurse's room before lunch to administer them.
I'd packed my bag the night before, I'd prepared my safe food meal and that was in the fridge downstairs waiting to be put in my bag, I had a few sachets of electrolyte powder and a pouch with my medications and three syringes of sterile water to flush my tube with in between medications to stop it getting clogged, then extra tape for my tube in case I sweat too much and it peeled off and a bottle of E45 moisturiser for the area around my tube where it was sensitive.
I was woken up at 6:30 by the alarm on my pump bleeping. I turned it off and disconnected my tube from the pump and flushed it with water. I got out of bed and connected myself to my pulse oximeter and blood pressure monitor, I recorded the readings and then started to go about my morning routine. I could hear Mam going up and down the corridor outside getting the rest of us ready for school, Once I'd brushed my teeth and washed my face I straightened my hair so it hung down my back in a shiny curtain and applied some makeup, I used a peach colour eyeshadow and a black eyeliner and applied a pink shimmery lipstick. I dabbed some cream around my tube and went downstairs.
Now you're probably wondering where Hugo has been throughout all of this, well to put it simply be never bothered to visit me in the hospital once, damn Louis visited me more than him so the first day I was home he came round to see my and told me that 'He was sorry he couldn't come and visit me but hospitals give him the creeps and he didn't think our relationship was working out so he thought it was best we broke up'. Now you're probably wondering if I'm some heartbroken teenager but these last few weeks have made me tougher than that so I've moved on with my life, Fran has been like my personal guard dog where he was concerned and I did have to stop her going round to 'Have words with him' but according to her she thinks Louis has a crush on me.

We arrived at school and Fran had already almost beaten up one year 7 pupil who pulled a grotesque face at me. Louis came over and handed me a gift bag "This is from everyone in Drama Club- we were supposed to give it to you when you were in hospital but we thought it would make a better welcome back to school present" He explained
I opened the bag to find a Build-a-bear dressed in a miniature version of my Sandy Outfit from Grease, I laughed "This is amazing, I love it thank you Louis" I smiled
"It's no problem. I'm glad you like it... I was sorry to hear about your break up with Hugo" He said and hurriedly dashed off going red
"Oooh Louis loves Rachel" Rosie teased
"Shut up Rosie. He's just being nice" I insisted
We went up to form and luckily for me the lifts were working this time, we were almost at our form room when I stopped "I can't do it guys.... What if people laugh at me- I'll be called all sorts of names" I felt hot salty tears running down my face and snot was starting to drip out of my nose
"Hey Rachel. Look at me okay, you most definitely can do this" Fran held onto my hands and squeezed them reassuringly
