"So who is going first ?", Lizzie asks. Quickly Aubrey volunteers to go first, she looks up the song and ends up selecting, I know you want me by Pitbull. She is screaming out the top of her lungs the very minimal lyrics and clay and Lizzie hype her up. I walk over to get a drink in the kitchen, Mellissa comes over to where I am.

"Hey y/n", she says.
"Hey Mel, thanks for showing up. I missed you", I tell her and she smiles and leans on the counter.
"Water ?", I ask and she nods no.
"Lizzie is here...Are you guys...together?", she asks.
"No we aren't together but we are still figuring it out.", I tell her, sipping from my drink.

"How much longer are you going to wait for her y/n? I am right here! Ready to love...you", she says with some hiccups towards the end.
"Mel, you are drunk. Can we not do this right now ?", I tell her.
"I might be a bit drunk but my feelings are still true. I can't get you off my mind y/n, I wish I would've made a move sooner but you were heartbroken when I met you and I figured you needed a friend more than a relationship. Those feelings never left though, I tried dating all these trashy people but none of them were you.", she tells me.
"Could we just give it a shot ? If it doesn't work then we can forget about it and go back to normal just please! One date ? One hour of your time at least ? You aren't even dating Lizzie so you are technically free to see people right ?", she tells me.
"No Mel, we shouldn't. You aren't thinking straight right now.", I tell her
"You have no idea what I feel or think!", she yells out causing  her to almost fall, I walk over to grab her and give her support. Then I give her a glass of water. I look back to see what the other were up to I realize Lizzie was just stare at us the whole time with a concerned look.
"I am okay, let go of me...", she says pushing me away.
"I can't...you are still my best friend Mellissa and I care about you, nothing is going to change that. But I can't be with you.", she looks at me and lays her head on my chest, so I hold her in a hug. Lizzie makes her way over to us.

"Are you okay?", Lizzie asks.
"Yeah I was just about to go sing a song!", Mellissa says pulling away from the hug I had her in, walking back to the couch where Aubrey had just finished singing her second song.
"Everything okay?", Lizzie asks me.
"I have no idea", I tell her and we walk over to the couch together sitting down in our previous spot, I see Mellissa setting up her song.

"Sorry for crashing the party but I hope you all are enjoying Christmas! This is one of my favorite holidays actually!...I dedicate this song to y/n, the love of my life who has her own love of her life !", she says with a laugh before she starts to sing. I shake my head, oh boy this wasn't good, I think to myself. I turn to look at Lizzie who just has a straight and blank face.

"And I am changing the pronouns because fuck it!", she says and Aubrey just claps, hyping her up  once she hears the tone of the song.

Guess mine is not the first heart broken
My eyes are not the first to cry
I'm not the first to know
There's just no getting over you

She sings and points at me while singing, her words were slurred but the message was coming across. Weirdly enough this was the musical I would always watch with Mellissa, which gave me flashbacks.

I know I'm just a fool who's willing
To sit around and wait for you
But baby, can't you see there's nothing else for me to do?
I'm hopelessly devoted to you

She continued to sing I desperately wanted her to stop, she kept walking around with very minimal balance. Clay and Aubrey completely gone with her, just sang along.

But now there's nowhere to hide
Since you pushed my love aside
I'm out of my head
Hopelessly devoted to you
