The next morning Johnny woke me up and told me to get ready for training. Even though eli bailed I'm glad miguel was still with johnny and I.

I threw on some athletic clothes and johnny and I headed over to the Diaz's to get miguel

"Johnny quinn hi!" Carmen says as she opens the door

"Your student is ready for some intense training" Carmen says

"You ready?" I say to miguel as we walk into their apartment

"Yup let me just- oh I forgot my water bottle in your car" he says to his mom

"Uh the keys are on my nightstand" she replies.

Miguel was gone for maybe 1 minute at most but it felt like 5 years. There was some weird tension in the room. I thought johnny and i had sorted things out but I guess not

"Uh sensei? I think this is yours" miguel says as he walks out of his moms room with one of johnnys belongings

I look at johnny confused on how that got in her room but johnny was staring at carmen. Then it hit me

"Oh my god" i say in shock

"Okay guys sit down" carmen says guiding us all to their livingroom area

"So... we wanted" carmen says but johnny also tries to talk

"You go" they both say

"Just one of you talk" miguel says

"... so yeah we're hooking up" johnny says and Carmen's eyes widen

"Well uh not just hooking up, you see when two people.... When two people" johnny begins

"So your dating or what?" I blurt out

"We're dating" johnny says and carmen conquers

"We obviously didn't want to tell you guys like this but I'm glad it's out in the open" carmen says

"Miggy are you okay?" His mom asks noticing he hasn't said anything

"Uh I mean yeah... I'm surprised, but also not? Umm yeah I just want you to be happy mom" he says with a smile that looked forced

"Quinn?" Johnny says

"I mean it's clear you guys don't really care how we feel since you're already dating." I say and Carmen's face falls. I love carmen but if my dad is dating her then it gives johnny even more room to be a father to miguel more than me

"Quinn come on, I know you were kind of upset with how much time I spent with miguel but now we can all spend time together" johnny says

"Wait what? Quinn you never told me that" miguel says looking at me

"Because he said he would work on ignoring me less" i say looking at Johnny

"Quinn come on, you me AND miguel can spend time together. It doesn't have to be just one or the other." Johnny says

"Yeah! And sometimes we can all hangout. Maybe family dinners or family game nights!" Carmen says trying to lighten the mood

"I'm okay with it as long as Quinn is" Miguel says

"No" i say shaking my head

"Come on Quinn why can't you be like miguel. Don't you want me to be happy?" Johnny says

"Yeah i do, but I want to be enough for you for once johnny. You left when I was young and now that I'm back in your life and it's like your searching for a way out of being my dad." I yell tears forming
