Twenty-four

Today was the day of the assembly. Johnny really seemed like he didn't want miguel and I there but I didn't know why. Miguel and I planned to walk there right after johnny left. we would probably be late but it was the only way to make this work.

I've been texting with miguel all morning planning out everything we were going to say if we got the chance and he was checking in to make sure he knew when johnny was gone.

Miguel and I had both not spoken to hawk in a while. After miguel got back and found out he broke demetri's arm and all the other shit he's pulled miguel wanted nothing to do with it. He even told me about how he saw tory when he was out with johnny. Said that she sounded just like kreese and that he was basically brain washing them. He was pretty upset with tory because she never came to visit him or even called which I understood. The whole reason miguel was even in his situation was to protect tory and then she doesn't even call him? It made me feel for miguel but him and I were both going through the same thing. Hawk and tory were both in cobra kai getting brain washed while miguel and I were trying to become better people.

Quinn- hey he just walked out the door. If we hear his car then we can go
Miguel- okay I'll meet you outside

I quickly put shoes on after I hear johnnys car start up and race out of the parking lot.

Miguel and I closed our doors at the same time and headed to the center holding the meeting.

"So have you talked to tory at all after you saw her" I ask him

"No I don't really want to if I'm being honest. What about you? Have you talked to hawk"

"No, he needs to get his priorities straight before I ever talk to him again" I say

"Yeah I get it... but do you think you still love him"miguel asks

"Of course I do. It's just I feel like if I go back to him it would be like me going back on everything I said at the dojo that one day but I'm not and I still stand by everything I said" I tell him

"Yeah I just hope he comes around. You two were really good for each other I mean he got you to not be an ass hole" miguel says making us both laugh

"Yeah but I guess I kinda gave my asshole traits to him" I say sighing thinking this was all my fault

"No your not responsible for how he acts" miguel assures me and I just nod not really feeling like talking about this anymore

When we got there I also saw daniel. and kreese unfortunately. They had made their decision to keep it cancelled but miguel and I both yelled wait at the same time as we ran down to the podium

"I'm miguel diaz and this is quincy easton. We were both involved in the fight and I was the one who was paralyzed for a while but I'm better now and I want to be able to keep doing karate" miguel says

"Young man we are glad you are better but we just can't risk having more injury's like that" one of them says

"But taking away the tournament won't stop karate. Itll just stop safe karate. Don't we deserve a place where we can feel our absolute best and show off our skills safely" I say to them

"Yeah!" Sam says getting up from her seat walking down to us

"Were the ones fighting and getting injured and we deserve to have a say" she says and we all nod

"Yeah I was bullied before I knew karate. I would get swerllied and all of that but with karate" miguel begins

"What's a swerly" one says interrupting miguel

"Oh it's when you put a kids face in a toilet and flush it" johnny says making me laugh

"But with karate I can stand up for myself" miguel finishes
