It was quiet. Wu Xie heard nothing when he gained consciousness. He frowned slightly, finally hearing a familiar beeping sound from a BP monitor. His hand felt stuffy as he's hooked with the IV drip. His finger flinched as he slowly opened his eyes. Thank god, his eyes were not greeted by the blinding light but a dim one. The nauseating smell of the hospital finally reached him. He cleared his throat, wetting his dry throat with his saliva. He felt so weak, could not move as fast as he wanted. Even the blanket felt heavy on him.

Click.

Wu Xie turned his head to look at the person who just entered the room. He smiled slightly when he saw his uncle.

'Ershu.'

Wu Erbai sighed in relief before taking a seat next to the bed. He had been waiting for a day and a half for his nephew to wake up. The doctor said Wu Xie fainted due to extreme fatigue and high fever. Thank God, Xiao Hua brought him back on time. Wu Xie smiled slightly, reaching over for his uncle's hand. The old man squeezed Wu Xie's hand gently, patting it.

'How are you feeling, Xiao Xie?'

'Thirsty.'

Wu Erbai quickly poured the water into the glass. Wu Xie tilted his head, drinking it. He cleared this throat and sighed in relief once the cold water coat his sore throat.

'How long..'

'A day and a half, Xiao Xie..' Wu Erbai sighed, patting Wu Xie's hand again. Wu Xie pouted slightly. No wonder he felt like a vegetable.

'You made me so worried. Haih.. I'll never let you go anywhere far anymore.'

Wu Xie whined weakly, shaking his head.

'Ershu. I'm already 24.'

Wu Erbai huffs. It's about two in the morning. Wu Xie looked at his uncle quietly, the old man visibly had not been sleeping well.

'Ershu. Go home. You need to rest too.'

'Xiao Xie. The sofa is comfortable enough for me.'

Wu Xie shook his head.
'You're old, Ershu. Your bone will break.'

Wu Erbai scoffed. Look like his nephew was all good. He brushed Wu Xie's hair, smiling slightly.

'Alright. I'll visit you in the morning.'

Wu Xie nodded his head. Wu Erbai gave Wu Xie a last look before exiting the room.

The latter looked up to the ceiling, chuckling slightly. He just ruined himself. He deserved it as a third person in the relationship.

'Zhang Kylin.' Wu Xie whispered softly, a drop of tear escaped his once doe eyes.

Wu Xie went back to the Wu manor after being discharged from the hospital. He felt at ease that way. Plus, only it was a semester break and his internship will start in about a few weeks. So, staying at the Wu manor is the best option.

It took a week for Wu Xie to completely recovered from the fever and shock. The scene was playing in Wu Xie's mind like a broken film and Wu Xie had to keep shutting himself down from reminiscing those memories.

Xiao Hua visited him once in a while after his discharge.

Xie Yuchen looked annoyed but he said nothing about what had happened. Wu Xie's glad at that.

What happened in the resort stayed in the resort.

'Why are you still in bed, Wu Xie?'

Yeah, Wu Xie rarely left the bed. He spent his day on the bed while staring at the wall. He only came out for meals. Wu Erbai was worried about the change of behaviour but Wu Xie just simply said he wanted to get all the sleep before his internship. Wu Erbai was skeptical but he allowed it anyway.
