"Let me love you, Wu Xie."
Wu Xie breathed in deeply the scent lingered on Zhang Kylin's neck as he was engulfed in the warm embrace. Wu Xie let his eyes fall close then opened them again. He's not dreaming.
Wu Xie squeezed Zhang Kylin's firm frame firmly for a few seconds, pulling away as if it were the last hug they shared.
He looked into the eyes of the handsome male, again taking a deep breath as his breath stuttered. He only chuckled when his tears fell again. His doe eyes may have been replaced by a faucet deeming how easy for him to shed tears.
"Wu Xie. I love-"
Wu Xie placed his fingers on the chapped lips, shaking his head slightly.
Was it love? He's afraid Zhang Kylin had mistaken the feelings of familiarity and comfort for love.
It's impossible for Zhang Kylin to love him. First, he's unlovable and not deserving of love. Second, Zhang Kylin loved Ah Ning. Wu Xie's certain of that. He's sure of that to the degree Zhang Kylin degrading himself, going back to Ah Ning although knowing she's cheating and even proposing.
God, that was love.
Perhaps, he was ruining their relationship for the entire time. He made Zhang Kylin his without hesitation or any thoughts that Ah Ning might be suffering from the loss of Zhang Kylin. It was because.. Wu Xie couldn't think but he carried the blame inside him, maybe forever.
"Let me make up for my mistakes, love."
Oh, dear. Wu Xie's heart rabbited upon hearing the endearment.
Was it another sweet lie that Wu Xie wanted to drown in?
"No. You've done nothing wrong.. I.."
"Please, Wu Xie. I love you. I love you so much."
"If you loved me so much then why did you treat me like that? Why?" The question he had been itching to ask finally escaped his mouth. He desperately wanted to know why.. but, again.
"I have no excuse. I know I hurt you a lot and billions of sorry won't make up for what I did. I know I love you. I've taken you for granted. I.." Zhang Kylin let his tears fall, letting Wu Xie see his most vulnerable side.
Wu Xie immediately wiped the tears, sighing. His heart was stabbed by the soft sniffle.
No, no. This wasn't it.
"I'm sorry." Zhang Kylin whimpered, holding Wu Xie's hand tightly, head hung low in shame. What should he do to convince Wu Xie of his love? It's understandable if Wu Xie's.. love for him had subdued. It's understandable if Wu Xie wanted to question his love.
He deserved this. deserved this.
But he loved Wu Xie so much, so much that there were none fathomable words could explain or even actions to express.
"I mean it, Wu Xie. Please give me one last chance. I swear I'll make it right." Zhang Kylin wanted one last chance. He wanted to hold Wu Xie close, cherish and protect him from any harm.
"I.. Zhang Kylin.. I.."
Wu Xie's words were cut by the swing of the door to his bedroom. Wu Erbai stood there, all serious and taut.
The expression took back Zhang Kylin. He got on his feet slowly, looking away to wipe his tears.
"Zhang Kylin. I'm asking you to leave Wu Xie alone. Please." Wu Erbai's voice quivered as he swallowed down his rage and fought to keep his sanity intact.
Wu Xie held Zhang Kylin's hand and squeezed it, whispering. "I'll talk to you later. Go now."
Zhang Kylin sighed in defeat, bowing deeply to Wu Erbai and left the house with a heavy heart.
