"Puppy!"
The holler from the front door made both Wu Xie and Xie Yuchen look up. Xie Yuchen made a clear disliking of the nickname, he's Hei Yanjing for many reasons.
Wu Xie huffed, focusing back on his book.
"Special delivery for you and the delivery man is still outside."
Another bouquet and Wu Xie's favourite food lay on the table.
"Did he know all of these snacks are unhealthy?"
Xie Yuchen tried to grab the snacks, but Wu Xie was faster, grinning sheepishly as he hugged the plastic bag.
"So? The delivery man is outside...?"
Wu Xie glanced at the slightly opened door. He couldn't see Zhang Kylin but he knew the man wouldn't dare to step into the house without Xie Yuchen's permission.
Xie Yuchen grabbed the bouquet, walking away to find another vase to put the flowers in. At this rate, his house would turn into a flower shop.
Wu Xie's decision not to meet Zhang Kylin was his own, Xie Yuchen had nothing to do with and he's so glad of the wise decision.
"So...?" Hei Yanjing tried again, hoping Wu Xie would say yes this time.
"Hmm. He should go home. It's late."
Hei Yanjing nodded understandingly and went outside. Zhang Kylin didn't need words to understand his friend. Instead, he nodded solemnly and left with a heavy heart.

The moon waxed and waned, no stars accompanied the lonely moon tonight. Zhang Kylin stared at the dark sky, indulging in his own thought.
Zhang Kylin also was struggling. His life turned upside down, in a good way he could possibly imagine when he met Wu Xie.
It was playful teasing. Zhang Kylin had no intention other than to tease Wu Xie. He had always loved the beautiful smiles, the pout on Wu Xie's lips whenever he was annoyed, the bright brown orbs staring at his dark ones, the way Wu Xie laughed at his corny jokes or when Wu Xie held him close every night without asking anything in return.
Wu Xie's someone he couldn't resist. Zhang Kylin started his own game, not because of his lover cheating on him. Wu Xie was never an act of revenge for her disgusting action.
Wu Xie slowly climbed and claimed the first place in his heart. No, Wu Xie didn't need to do so. He came rooted as the most important person in Zhang Kylin's life and it would drive him into insanity if he lost Wu Xie.
He tried to tie Wu Xie down. By having sex. Stupid as it might sound but Zhang Kylin had no other way. Love was not something yet built. He just loved the way wild waves crashed wildly in his heart, thrilled as he stared at Wu Xie underneath him, all soft and pliant. All marks on that body are proof that Wu Xie's his.
And then came the warm sun on clear skies after the sex. Wu Xie just kept smiling, cuddling making his chest warm. He never had this feeling with his ex-fiancée. Never. Only Wu Xie managed to make him feel some colours of emotion that he didn't know was possible.
Wu Xie was a complexity. A beautiful complexity that Zhang Kylin could never get enough of.
However, Zhang Kylin forgot. He forgot that he hurt Wu Xie. A lot. A lot that there's nothing he could atone to.
It's not always but there were times when he looked at Wu Xie and felt guilty, and sharp pain prickles his heart. Apologies were nothing compared to Wu Xie's agony. Nothing could pay for the damage.
