It had started to seem like every time I left, things went downhill pretty damn quickly. Two days after Barry had taken me to see the sunrise, I got a call from him. It was 2:37 PM and I had been getting ready to go on a jog. I picked up my phone and asked,

"Barry?"

"Y/N. You need to meet me up here." He sounded angry, very, very angry. I began to say something but was interrupted by a notification from FindMyFriends.

Barry Berkman shared location

"Barry, what are you talking about?" I asked sternly.

"Fuches showed Mr. Cousineua Janice."

He said. I could hear the engine becoming louder and louder. As my mind raced to figure out who Janice was, it all came back.

"The detective" I mumbled, still processing everything.

"Barry, I don't think I should hel-" I started to say but he cut me off.

"No. I need you. Just come in as backup when I text you. Please." He was still angry and was set in his ways.

"Barry, seriously, I think you need to do this on your own." I replied. He stayed quiet and I heard him wiz across the dirt road. All of the sudden I heard a skid and he said into the phone,

"I'm here and I need you." And with that, he hung up.

I sighed, knowing he was counting on me. I thought things over for a while.

On the one hand, I still had a decent relationship with Fuches and Barry was putting his own problems first. If I did this, everything I had with Fuches would be gone. But on the other hand, Barry had seemed pretty off lately and Fuches seemed to be the root of it.

I put my head in my hands and realized I wasn't going to go running today.

As I walked through the woods, pistol in my hand, to the location Barry said he would be, there was no sign of anyone. Was I too late? I thought to myself, worriedly. I began running through what could've happened. I tightened my grip on the pistol. It felt nice in my hand, but while the heaviness gave me comfort, I quickly went back to overthinking.

"Maybe I went to the wrong place," I mumbled to myself.

"Nope. You're in the right place."

A voice said from behind me. Startledly, I whipped around and jumped when I saw the worst possible people to see at a crime scene, the police. I stuttered, at a loss for words. My mind instantly flew to a bad realization.

Barry must've set me up.

I sighed and began to come up with an excuse, but she cut me off.

"Don't come up with an excuse, you're coming with us." She walked over to me. I thought about resisting, but chose not to.

I took in all of my surroundings including her, and her partner who had emerged from behind a tree. She was tall, but wearing heels. She had pretty, long red hair and blue eyes. She seemed to know what she was doing so she had obviously been working as an officer for a long time, maybe seven or eight years. Her partner seemed very put-together as well, and had probably worked much longer than she had.

I put my hands behind my back and she cuffed me.

"Just a precaution." She said and I scoffed. She glared at me and I looked at my shoes.
