Walking along the sidewalk in the rain, I saw something I didn't expect to see. Barry. He was walking towards me, with his head hung low. I stopped walking and he noticed something and he lifted his head. His eyes widened.
"Y/N?" He began running towards me. I stepped away. "Y/N! Oh my God, I was so worried, I-" I slapped him in the face. He stared at the ground and slowly looked back up to. He frantically began to say something.
"Save it Barry. I know what you did. But guess what, your little plan didn't work." I smirked and crossed my arms over my chest. He gaped at me, at a loss for words. I stood there looking at him before he said,
"What are you talking about? Listen, I know that nothing went as planned back there, but you need to trust me."
He looked at me with pleading eyes. I wondered if maybe he was telling the truth and he was set up. I suddenly wished he hadn't been able to open the voicemail yet.
"I, I got your voicemail and I understand what you must've been thinking," He trailed off, waiting for my reaction. I sighed and looked down at my shoes, hoping he couldn't see the bright shade of red I was becoming.
"Oh man. Barry, I'm sorry. I just, I was late and by the time I arrived, you weren't there and two officers were." I felt really embarrassed, hoping he hadn't taken it all that personally. We stayed quiet for a little bit, standing in the rain awkwardly.
"I understand." Was all he said. He shifted his weight and said,
"Hey listen, uh, Fuches got away and uh, well, he's at a monastery right now and I think that's my last chance to get him." He looked into my eyes, and I knew he still needed me.
"Okay." I slowly said. I could tell he started to smile.
"Great!" He said, a little too excitedly. "Uh, my car's right down the road if you'd like a ride." He gestured up to the sky and I nodded.
As we walked towards his car we both were silent. I could tell my voicemail must've hurt him, I just didn't know how bad
"Here we are." He said.
I walked over to the familiar passenger's side and he got in too. We buckled up and he pulled out of the lot. Nothing's Gonna Stop us Now, by Starship, quietly played in the background and he turned it up. I looked at him as we both lip synced 'Put your hand in my hand, baby don't ever look back.' We giggled as he made a show of jamming out with his hands.
We arrived at the place and he immediately put on a straight face. He glared at the building and without looking at me he said,
"Pistols are in the back."
I nodded and got out. As I opened up the trunk he came around to me. I handed him a pistol and got one for myself before walking to the building.
