Grief

It's been 3 months since Claire's funeral Jay has returned to work but he's not the same he seems to take cases a lot more personal than he use to especially cases about kids. Jay had a bad case about a 10 year old girl who was found murdered.
Jay sat on his bed holding a picture of him and Claire, then Hailey walked in.
H=hey
Jay didn't look up
H=you okay
J="no" he said still looking down at the picture "I don't know how I'm gonna get by without her" he said
H=I know it's hard but you will get through it. You have to get through it for your kids they need you more than ever
He nodded
A hour later
Jay walked into Caroline's room where Noah and her were both sitting on the bed looking at pictures of them with Claire and sharing memories
J=hey guys
They both looked up
CA=hey dad
He sat down on the bed
N=we were just looking through pictures
J=I see that, listen guys I know I haven't been there for you during this time you needed me the most
Ca=it's okay dad you were going through it too
N=yeah we had it each other you were grieving too
J=thank guys but that's not an excuse for me to abandon you like I did it was wrong and I shouldn't have been like that it wasn't fair towards you
Ca=dad really it's ok we understand right Noah
N=yeah
Jay smiled they hugged and for the next two hours they looked at pictures of all of them with Claire and exchanged their favorite memories. By the end of the night they had all laughed and cried.
J=all right it's time to go to bed
J=bye Caroline love you
Ca=bye dad love you too
Jay and Noah left her room
N=all right dad night
J=night love you
N=love you too
Jay went into the triplets playroom where they were playing with each other as Hailey sat in the rocking chair
H=hey
J=hey
H=I'm guessing that went well by how many laughs I heard coming from that room y'all were in
J=yeah it did. It was very much needed
Jay sat on the floor and played with the trip
J=I haven't been fair to you three either have I
Jesse crawled over to him and sat on his lap
J=hey buddy...oh no you stink you need a diaper change
H=it's definitely your turn
Jay picked him up and put him on the changing table and grabbed a diaper and started to change him
J=oh God what did you eat"
He said making gross faces
Hailey couldn't help but laugh
H=all right I think it's bedtime
They put the triplets to sleep and went to the bedroom
J=well you know it been a little while since we had fun
He said rubbing her thigh
She slid her hand down the front of his boxers. They definitely had fun that night.

A couple weeks later
It was report card day
Jay just got home from work
J=hey
Noah tried to sneak upstairs
J=don't even think about it hand over the report card
Ca=I got mine dad
Caroline was glad to give her report card to her dad she is a straight a student
J=all A's good job I'm proud of you, now Noah yours please
Noah slowly hand him the report card
J=are you serious you have 2 A's 3B's and 1 C
N=I'm sorry dad I just have been busy I have a baseball tournament every weekend 5 games on Saturday and 4 games on Sunday and we have practice every day from 3:30 to 7:00
J=so what your saying is your too tired and busy from baseball to be able to make good grades
N=I mean I guess
J=then maybe you shouldn't be playing baseball
N=WHAT!! You can't make me quit I've been playing since I was 6
J=well if your grades don't start coming up then I wil certainly make you quit
N=that's not fair
J=life's not fair haven't you learned that by now
N=what I'm stupid I get okay!!
J=your not stupid you just don't try hard enough
H=your dads right Noah your not stupid you just have to try
N=I do try
J=no you don't when do you ever study
N=I study the night before test like Caroline and she makes all a's
J=you have to study more than just the night before the test
N= why Caroline doesn't have to and neither
J=well you are not Caroline or Claire and just for the record Clair would never argue with me like this if she here
N=yeah well too bad God took the wrong kid from you
J=WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN!!
N=we all know you wished I would've died instead of Claire!!!
Jay couldn't help himself he slapped Noah in the face
J=DON'T YOU EVER SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT AGAIN!!!
It was silent the Noah ran up to his room.
Hailey was in shock she had never seen Jay put his hands on his children before. Jay couldn't believe how he had acted he just slapped his 11 year old child in the face.
J=what's wrong with me. Every time I hear Claire's name I just stop thinking clearly
H=I know you need to get it together though for them
J=I know that
He walked upstairs to Noah's room Noah was sitting on his bed
J=hey bud you mind if I come in
N=please just leave me alone
J=I can't do that
N=why not you want come hit me again or something
J=Noah I'm sorry I hit you. But I need you to understand something. Noah look at me when I'm talking to you
Noah looked up at him
J=I love you if something happened to you my world would be shattered. You and Caroline are the reason that I am trying to hold myself together.
N="im sorry" he said as he started to cry
J=it's okay but I love you and I need you to know
N= I..I do
They hugged them decided to watch a movie in Noah's room. A few hours later Hailey went upstairs to look for Jay. She opened the door of Noah's rom and she saw Jan and Noah had both fell asleep in the bed she left them their and went to her on room.
