The Gilbert siblings were currently in the woods, walking across the side of the lake as Elena and Grace decided to tell Jeremy that the twins weren't his biological sisters and that they were adopted, " I just can't believe mom and dad never told you guys that you were adopted" Jeremy commented with a look of surprise on his face his eyes flickering between the twins.
" I'm sure they would've eventually" Grace stated as she was standing between her siblings earning a small smile from them both. " why were you worried about what I thought?" Jeremy questioned with an confused frown on his face as Elena sighed heavily with a shake of her head and explained, " because, I don't know, it's weird. Going your whole life thinking you're related by blood to someone"
Jeremy nodded his head in understanding glancing between the twins and curiously asked, " does it bug you that we're not?" Grace immediately shook her head in response as it didn't matter who's blood ran through her veins Jeremy was still her little brother, " Jer, you're our brother. Nothing will change just because we aren't biologically related and that's all that matters"
The youngest Gilbert smiled turning his attention to his sisters when Elena decided to break up the comfortable silence and spoke, " So, Mr Saltzman said you've been doing great in history now" Jeremy nodded his head in agreement and explained, " Yeah, yeah. He's really been helping me out. He gave me some extra credit and stuff"
"He loved your vampire paper" Grace stated with her eyebrows raised turning to look at her brother who shrugged his shoulders casually and resorted, " He thought i had a clever angle" the red headed girl hummed sharing a look with her sister before she curiously asked, " what drew you to that subject matter?"
Jeremy frowned with an confused look on his face staring at his sisters before he teasingly told them, " I don't know. Boredom. Or maybe I'm just as nuts as the long line of Gilbert crazies" Elena smiled in amusement with a shake of her head and said, " The Gilbert's aren't crazy"
"Easy for you two to say, you're not one" Jeremy teased his sisters causing Grace eyes to widened with a smile on her face nudging him to the side slightly and muttered, " ouch" Jeremy grinned at Grace and Elena who shared a look before they began chasing after their little brother.

Later that evening, the Lockwood mansion was fully decked out with string lights as the people of Mystic Falls arrived at another's fonder's party. Everyone was dressed in their fine suits and dresses, chatting and laughing together inside the Lockwood mansion.
Grace let out a sigh as she walked into the Lockwood mansion, with her phone in her hands as her green eyes scanned around the room when she was approached by Tyler who beamed at his ex girlfriend and complimented her, " Hey, Grace. You look beautiful"
