" Thanks for coming, Ric" Damon greeted Alaric as he opened the door to let the history teacher in the boarding house as the two walked towards the parlour where Grace, Stefan and Elena where sitting waiting patiently, " can I get you anything to drink? Coffee? Bourbon? Bourbon in your coffee?" Damon questioned with a smirk on his face looking at the older human.
Grace had spent these last couple of days with Caroline to help her with the transition and to get used to the fact she's no longer human she's now immortal but Grace wanted the newly turned vampire to know she doesn't see her any differently and wanted her to know that she's always going to be there for her no matter what especially since Bonnie and Elena had basically been avoiding the blonde vampire and not checking on how Caroline is as she is still the same girl they grew up with just that something bad happened to someone who didn't deserve it.
Alaric rolled his eyes at the dark haired vampire taking a seat on the opposite coach from the Gilbert twins and Stefan before he informed, " Grace mentioned you needed my help" Stefan nodded his head in confirmation as he leaned forward with his hands together and said, " Yeah, we were, uh, hoping you could help shed some light on the Lockwood family" Alaric frowned with an confused look on his face looking at everyone and questioned, "Now, why would I know anything about the Lockwood's?"
Grace raised her brows as she knew that this had something to do with the device and why it affected the Lockwood's as it was only suppose to affect vampires but it also affected mayor Lockwood and Tyler Lockwood and while it also did something to Grace everyone just assumed that it was something witch related especially since the red headed girl is really powerful and has been using magic since she was a child.
"Well, you wouldn't. But your dead- not dead vampire wife might" Damon suggested with a shrug of his shoulders causing Grace to let out a sigh as she wanted nothing else to do with her biological mother after showing her true colours and putting her brother in danger just to get the device only to hand it over to her biological father John Gilbert, " Isobel's research from when you guys were at Duke's together" Elena nodded her head in agreement as she added in to what her sister was speaking about, " you said that she had spent years researching this town"
Alaric stayed silent for a couple of moments looking between the twins before he informed, " Isobel's research here on Mystic Falls was rooted in folklore and legend. At the time, I thought most of which was fiction" Damon mockingly gasped looking directly at his friend from the chair he's sitting on next to his brother and teasingly commented, "like that amazing vampire story" Grace rolled her eyes sending Damon an unimpressed look before turning her attention back onto Alaric ams curiously questioned, " aside from vampires, what else?"
"The lycanthrope" Alaric answered with an hesitant expression on his face causing Elena and Grace to share an puzzled look with one another before the older Gilbert twin spoke up looking at Alaric and curiously asked, "Wait, like werewolves?" Damon scoffed in disbelief shaking his head not believing that werewolves even existed, " No way. Impossible. Way too Lon Chaney. Maybe in children's books but in real like it's just not possible"
