Grace walked onto the landing of the staircase; all eyes were drawn to her from the girls competing against Miss Mystic Falls as the red headed girl looked over the marble staircase railing in hopes to search for her date as Caroline did inform her it was someone she knew quite well.
The youngest Gilbert twin turned around with a smile at the sight of Caroline and Elena as the three of them was the only remaining girls that was left to be called up upon from Mayor Lockwood, " Hey" Grace called out with a large smile on her face as she greeted her twin sister and her best friend.
"Oh, my god. Gracie, you look so beautiful" Caroline gasped in awe as both she and Elena both trailed their eyes over the Gilbert's teen outfit. The red headed girl chuckled with a beaming smile on her face spinning around playfully making the two girls giggled at Grace's antics.
Grace had her hair and makeup all done up perfectly as she was wearing a beautiful red dress with silver heels to match; the red headed girl was determined to win this not for herself or to prove everyone in the room but to make her mother proud as her mother was Miss Mystic Falls when she applied when she was the girls age.
"Thank you. Have you seen yourself? You look stunning, Care" Grace complimented Caroline with an awe expression at the strapless green dress she was currently wearing causing the blonde to send the Gilbert twins a kind smile. The three girls were currently making small talk to ease their nerves when Carol Lockwood approached them, " Has anybody seen Amber?"
Grace shook her head in response as she's not seen Amber in a while - the last time she spoken to Amber was when she told her and her sister she was going outside for some air as she was currently having a panic attack as she was anxious and uneasy about doing the Miss Mystic Falls pageant.
"Do you see Stefan down there?" The elder Gilbert sister questioned with a worried and concerned expression on her face as she was searching the crowd below for her boyfriend who is nowhere in sight causing her frown to deepen. " Nope. Just my boring fill-in escort and of course Grace's date" Caroline replied smirking tauntingly at Grace as she joined her best friend side looking over the railing.
"Wait, what? Who is it?" Grace eyes widened with furrowed brows as she looked down at the crowd before turning her attention to Caroline, " My god. It best be someone hot and not some random weirdo you have set up as my date" Grace groaned with a roll of her eyes as she hit her arm weakly.
Caroline chuckled lightly at the red headed girl when Elena glanced between the two girls with an confused expression on her face before turning her attention to the blonde and inquired, " what happened to Matt?" Caroline sighed in frustration as she muttered, " They wouldn't let him out of work. What happened with Stefan?"
