"Where the hell have you been?!" Rindo yelled when he open the front door to see you standing in front, holding a bag of Wacdonald, Ran was just leaning on the door frame with his arm-crossed looking at you. Hanma was resting on the metal railings at the corridor stairs, he gave a small salute to Ran and left when you went inside.

"Izana is furious " Ran sat in front of you at the kotatsu while you were chomping down your fries and burger.

"Kick me out of the gang then, I don't care. I'm not going to get all chummy with Kisaki or his minion" you shot a rude glance at Ran.

"Says you who just went out and got sent home by his so-called minion?" Ran argued

"He followed me, not the other way round and I told him to leave but he insisted on sending me back. I'd have fought it out if I wasn't hungry."

"Just apologize to Izana about your behavior today. He also expects a formal apology from you to Kisaki and Hanma for creating internal conflict." Ran glared at you, you gritted your teeth and remained silent. Apologize? To him? Who the fuck does Izana think he is to order me around.

Rindo sensed the tension that was about to erupt, he knew his brother well and Ran will definitely not back down even if it is for the girl he loves. He is loyal to Izana and looked up to him. Rindo could not care less about such loyalty, he only followed because of his brother. Rindo guessed that Kisaki was the reason you seek revenge for your friend and understood your anger.

Rindo sat between you and Ran, Ran side-eyed him as he knew his brother is trying to defend you. "Rindo, don't get invol-"

"Of course, Ran. Anything you say." you interrupted him and flashed a sweet smile. You stood up and looked at Rindo, "Have the rest of my food, I'll take a shower."

You were extremely furious. You only agreed and play nice because you did not want to get Rindo involved, you knew he was going to defend you and the last thing you need is another sibling rivalry.

You punched the bathroom tile while hot tears ran down your cheeks, you hate to be a crybaby but when you are angry you just can't hold your tears in. You repeatedly punch the wall, your knuckles were now red and stinging.

"Y/n.. are you ok?" Rindo knocked on the door softly, "Yeah, don't worry! I was trying to kill a lizard." you answered back, your cheerful tone betraying the look on your face.

"Let's go to the convenience store," Ran asked when you step out of the bathroom, you held your hands behind your back to hide it from him. You knew why he wanted to ask you out now, he's trying to sugarcoat his words earlier so that he can persuade you into apologizing. Unfortunately for him, you are not in the mood for that now.

"Nah, I'm tired." you looked away and walk past him, he grabbed onto your elbow to stop you his eyes were fixated on your knuckles. You yanked his grip off your arm in annoyance.

"What do you want now, Ran? Should I also personally apologize to you and Rindo or perhaps I should apologize to the entire Tenjiku members and then give personal apologies to every single executive and the Heavenly Kings?" You turn to look at him, his eyes soften when your eyes turn red again as the same hot tears welled up. You look away and tilt your head up, hoping for the tears to go back into your eyes.

"Rindo, he wants to go out, please do me a favor and accompany him." You called out to Rindo and took Rindo's blanket and your bolster to the couch, you refused to sleep beside Ran tonight.

You pulled the blanket over your face and hugged the bolster to muffle out your cries. Everything was turning out wrong for you, first of all, you couldn't understand why Takemitchi and Chifuyu would stop you from helping and now you have to come back home just to deal with Ran asking you to apologize to Kisaki. Why should you? He didn't apologize when he manipulated Kazutora into stabbing Keisuke.

"I'll apologize to Kisaki and Hanma for her," Rindo mutters while walking alongside his older brother.

"Stop spoiling her, Rindo. Grow up, she made a mistake and she has to own up to it." Ran argued, lighting up a cigarette and putting it in his mouth to inhale the first puff.

Ran doesn't smoke daily, he only does when he is feeling stressed out over something that he couldn't resolve. Upsetting both Y/n and Izana is something worth being stressed out, he couldn't come up with a solution that could please both sides. He wanted to appease Izana for y/n but also understood that her actions were immature and she shouldn't have done that.

"We don't know why she is acting this way, she might have her own reasons too. How can you relate that to being immature." Rindo pinched his nose, he despise the smell of tobacco and told Ran to never smoke at home.

"It's because of her dead friend, isn't it? It's about time she moved on. She is going to get herself into big trouble someday that even we can't help." Ran tossed the cigarette on the ground, squashing the light out with his slippers.

"Brother, stop trying to project your loyalty for Izana on her. Did you already forget how she tried to kill herself? This is clearly important to her if it's enough for her to give her life up. I'll talk to Izana about this." Rindo unlocked the door with Ran following behind him.

Ran walked towards the couch and saw you sound asleep, your brows were burrowed and there were still wet tears residing on your nose bridge, your soft breathing was congested due to crying. Ran wiped the tears off your face using the blanket, his heart ached to know you cried yourself to sleep.

He gently lifted you up, with the blanket still covering your body, and placed you onto his side of the bed. He tugged you in snugly, "I'm sorry, y/n. Rindo is right, I shouldn't project my loyalty on you. I hope you forgive me." he tugged stray pieces of your hair behind your ears.

"I'll sleep on the couch tonight." Ran whispered to Rindo as he made his way onto the couch. He knew you didn't want to sleep on the same bed as him, at the same time he didn't want you to sleep on the couch since it's uncomfortable. It was the least he could do for you now.
